Welcome back to another edition of Lining Up! Following a return to normalcy after bye weeks and All-Star breaks, we will be taking a look at some players in favourable situations who might be able to help your roster.

Let's dive in.

Tyler Toffoli

With the return of Jack Hughes from injury, New Jersey looks to finally be close to full strength and with that, a return to regular deployment. After some consistency issues so far this season, Tyler Toffoli is poised to pick it up as he is back to playing alongside Hughes at both even strength and on the top power play unit. It's worth noting that over the last three games since Hughes' return, that unit has seen a 55.5% share of the power play time compared to 22.4% for the second unit. When Dougie Hamilton was in the lineup, New Jersey seemed to be splitting more evenly but whether it is a short sample size or an emerging trend, the first unit is getting a slightly higher share at the moment.

This should be good for Toffoli who is only on pace for 57 points this season despite receiving the best power play usage of his career (67.6 %PP and 3:10 PPTOI). As alluded to though, perhaps the fact that he started the season with seven power play points in 20 games before only notching three in his next 30 games is indicative of a wider team problem with the man advantage, or perhaps more specifically a lack-of-Jack Hughes problem. Look for Toffoli to hopefully cash in a on few more power play opportunities in the near future, as New Jersey still has three games remaining this week.

Shane Pinto

After serving a lengthy suspension, Shane Pinto returned to the Ottawa lineup playing predominantly with Vladimir Tarasenko and Ridly Greig. He has also spent time playing on a power play unit with Claude Giroux and Brady Tkachuk, seeing a career high 2:57 PPTOI. The results have been excellent as he is currently on a point per game pace, including five points in his last two games against division rivals Detroit and Toronto. In each game he played 19 and 20 minutes respectively, marginally outplaying the lines with Giroux, Tkachuk and Tim Stützle. Now, playing the line combination of Pinto, Tarasenko and Greig as the top line is likely not a method for success and it probably came down to matchups against the opposing team's line, but it is demonstrative of a line that is receiving the trust of the coaching staff.

On top of the quality deployment and point streak, Pinto is also up to averaging three shots, one and a half hits and one block per game for great peripheral contributions early on. Plus if you are in a league that counts FOW, he has 62.5 FOW% early on. Again this all an early sample size but at only 15% owned in Yahoo leagues, it couldn't hurt to stream Pinto in while he is performing. Particularly this week as Ottawa plays Columbus, Anaheim and Chicago this week in what is a dynamite streaming schedule for a team that is middle of the league offensively.

On a related noted as well, Joonas Korpisalo has strung together three very good games in a row and has five Quality Starts and Wins in his last eight games. Since he is owned in 55% of Yahoo leagues, now would also be a good time to stream in if you can for an extremely soft schedule against Anaheim and likely Chicago later this week.

Trevor Moore

Trevor Moore is hot recently with three points in his last three games and is on pace for a career-high 60 points this year while playing on his regular line with Phillip Danault and Kevin Fiala. The trio have already played for over 55% of their time at even strength together and the results seem to be good for Moore. He is currently operating with a slightly high shooting percentage by his standards of 13.1% but he has increased his shot totals this season to over three per game and his last three points have all been assists. He is finding ways to contribute in different areas at the moment which could be a boon to your roster.

An interesting wrinkle will be to see how Viktor Arvidsson slots back into the lineup as last season, he played in Fiala's position with Danault and Moore. If L.A decides to return to that deployment, it may hurt Moore to downgrade from Fiala to Arvidsson. In the meantime, L.A has four games still to come this week so consider streaming in Moore for the short term.

Jack McBain

Jack McBain has quietly been playing on the top line with Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz recently, logging nearly 100 minutes so far. Despite not seeing much power play time, the move has given McBain a boost in overall ice time as he is up nearly a full two minutes of TOI over his last ten games compared to the first 26 games of the season. He has yet to really seize the opportunity with no points in his last four games but if your league counts hits and penalty minutes, he has a great schedule, and the deployment adds the potential to chip in points. Arizona plays three more games this week but all on off nights and McBain has been averaging close to three hits and one penalty minute per game on the season. If you are on in a deep league with these categories, stream him in.
