DFS Thursday: Targeting Winnipeg; Ottawa’s Offensive Upside; Quinn Hughes and Rasmus Dahlin

Good day, all! How'd we do last play out for everyone? I actually wasn't able to play last night but if I did, I was leaning more of a Carolina/Utah game stack. It would have worked out for the Utah side, Carolina…not so much.
This is an interesting slate here tonight, just going over it now a couple times I can see this being a… – we'll call it a "mix-and-match" night of how you can get into cash. There are obvious smash spots with the Rangers going up against the Sharks, and I'd throw Minnesota up against Minnesota as well, but I'm looking at a couple games here that caught my attention.
Slate Preview
Winnipeg vs Tampa Bay
I played Winnipeg on the road, against Igor Shesterkin, and made it out with a win. Trends are your friends; I'm going to likely go right back to Winnipeg here tonight. There has to be some regression for this team at some point, but even if that's a 4-3 loss and my guys get there I'm still looking alright in tournaments. The best part here is that Mark Scheifele ($6,700), Gabriel Vilardi ($5,100), both haven't moved in price. Even Kyle Connor ($8,300), has stayed steady around that price and not made a jump up like we may have expected to see. The top line has full correlation, but even if you wanted to go with a Nikolaj Ehlers ($6,200) one-off, or pieces of the depth, I don't really mind that play much either here tonight. To me, I'm probably looking to 3-maxes here tonight and will consider having Winnipeg anchor at least two of those stacks. The Jets have the best record in the NHL, along with the best PP%, I want to get to some of them here tonight and going forward as long as the prices don't jump up.
On the Tampa side, I don't have a ton of interest here but an Anthony Cirelli ($5K) and Brandon Hagel ($5,900) tandem would probably be where I would go here. Just the way I'm looking to build tonight, I don't think I'll have anyone in my build over $9K. Sorry Nikita Kucherov ($9,400). Even on the blue line, I can't see getting to much of the Bolts here, in net though, well, we'll get there.
Philadelphia vs Ottawa
This might be a brutal game that I'm not sure gets much screen time, but I have some interest here. Starting with the road Flyers, the top line was extremely popular the other night against the Sharks but unless you had a Travis Konecny one-off, they probably didn't get you into the cash. For me, a one-off Travis Konecny ($7,100) is in play, but at that price I might be able to fine either a better situation for a one-off or be able to use that money and punt in other places for an expensive stack. I'm trying to talk myself into the Flyers top line of Konecny, Owen Tippett ($6,300) and Sean Couturier ($4,700) as they will skate together 5v5 and on the power play but having trouble getting there. I even went back and checked, and this is one of the few times a line has stuck together on this club with 49 minutes at even strength as a trio in the last three games. If you like the spot or are 20-maxing I could see getting to them, but for me in 1-3 lineups it might be a pass.
Now let's talk Sens! The Flyers are sending Ivan Fedotov out there in net tonight sporting a 4.05 GAA and a SV% around .850. This has me very interested in the Senators and think that you can build a stack here going across the top six. If you want to throw a two-man of, say, Drake Batherson ($5,500) and Josh Norris ($4,800) or some combination like that, I think that's in play here for Ottawa as I can see scoring spread out amongst this club tonight.
NY Islanders vs Vancouver
Another day, another potential Islanders play, and of course I have some interest. Question though is just where on New York I want to go but am leaning the Isles second line of Maxim Tsyplakov ($3,400), Brock Nelson ($5,600), and Kyle Palmieri ($5,200). This line has been high event, like we saw the other night out against Edmonton, but still generating offense so I don't mind going here. Felt like Nelson won every draw the other night as well, so I think this could be a fine play here tonight. If you're building a 4-3-1, I think you could add in Anders Lee ($5,100), who scored twice the other night and is below $6K.
Vancouver is where things get a little spicy and might be a way to get very unique on a build here as I'm looking at this lineup and considering playing double-center J.T. Miller ($6,100) and Elias Pettersson ($5,700). Pettersson started very quiet this season but has four points in the Canucks last two games, and I like the way him and Conor Garland have played off each other. Even if you wanted to add Garland here at $4,800 for a stack, that's a decent option. I don't typically spend up for defensemen and if I do it's usually only one expensive blue liner, but Quinn Hughes ($7,300) might be in play for me as I want as much of the Vancouver PP, going up against an Isles team that has struggled on the kill.
Defensemen
As mentioned, Quinn Hughes might be a lock-and-load for me in a couple lineups here tonight. In the $6K range there's a lot I like here tonight with Rasmus Dahlin coming in at $6,400, Jake Sanderson ($6,100) for any Ottawa stack I build, and Adam Fox at $5,700 again might sneak into a lineup of mine. For the cheaper D-men, Alex Vlasic from the Hawks at $3,700 is fine, and I don't mind dropping to Brandon Carlo at $3,500 so long as he promises to block shots all night.
Goalies
Connor Hellebuyck ($7,800)…you all know what to do. If this is Eric Comrie instead, I have interest as more of a unique play as he might get overlooked. I do really like the other side of that game in any non-Winnipeg stack with Andrei Vasilevskiy at $7,600. MacKenzie Blackwood down at $6,900 against the Rangers if you need someone cheap as he got there against New Jersey the other night and fits in with what I might be trying to do here tonight so I don't mind him either.
Good luck tonight everybody!
