With January wrapping up this past weekend, it's time to spotlight the NHLers who dominated the first month of the new year.

From superstars operating at peak efficiency to players who bounced back after slow starts, here are the Top 10 performers of January.

10.   Jack Eichel, C, Vegas Golden Knights

Eichel kicked off 2026 with a bang, leading the Golden Knights with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 15 games. The focal point of Vegas' attack at both even strength and on the powerplay, Eichel is an elite talent capable of dominating for extended stretches of the season. With Jack running hot like this, Vegas is a threat to win each and every Knight.

9.   Mark Stone, RW, Vegas Golden Knights

Stone delivered a month for the ages in January, blending elite offensive instincts with his signature defensive reliability. Stone piled up 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 15 games, including seven powerplay points, captaining Vegas to an 8-4-3 record. Although injuries have cost Stone a chunk of the season yet again, he's enjoying easily the most productive offensive season of his career – and January was no exception.

8.   John Gibson, G, Detroit Red Wings

Gibson put together one of the most impressive goaltending months in the league all year last month. In 12 appearances, Gibson went 8-3-1 with a pristine 2.13 GAA and .921 save percentage, while tying for the league lead in Quality Starts (9). Following a forgettable start to the campaign, Gibson has settled into his new home, propelling the Red Wings to a top-five record in the Eastern Conference.

7.   Evan Bouchard, D, Edmonton Oilers

Bouchard continued to flourish as Edmonton's primary offensive defenceman in January. He racked up 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) in 14 games, including seven powerplay points, while quarterbacking arguably the NHL's most dangerous powerplay unit. Despite his ongoing defensive struggles, Bouchard's offensive capabilities are undeniable.

6.   Andrei Svechnikov, LW/RW, Carolina Hurricanes

Svechnikov put his slow start firmly behind him with a monster month of January. He erupted for 19 points (10 goals, nine assists) in 14 games, tying for the league lead in goals. Svech looked decisive and dangerous once again, reminding fantasy managers of the ceiling he brings when fully engaged.

5.   Brady Tkachuk, C/LW, Ottawa Senators

Appearing on this list for the second consecutive month, Tkachuk proved once again why he remains one of fantasy hockey's most valuable multi-category assets. In January, Brady posted 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) while firing 51 shots, delivering 39 hits, and piling up 22 penalty minutes. Amidst an up-and-down season in Ottawa, Tkachuk's relentless style ensures fantasy managers never feel turbulence. 

4.   Connor McDavid, C, Edmonton Oilers

McDavid was a constant force throughout January, producing 24 points (10 goals, 14 assists) in 14 games. He led the league with 60 shots while continuing to dominate on the powerplay, collecting eight points with the man advantage. When McDavid is attacking with this level of volume and urgency, there's simply no stopping him.

3.   David Pastrnak, RW, Boston Bruins

Widely regarded as of the league's premier playmakers, Pastrnak carved up opposing defences for the entire month of January. He finished the month with 25 points (five goals, 20 assists), ranking second in assists leaguewide. Pastrnak's ability to dictate offence from the wing has kept Boston competitive in the air-tight Atlantic Division.

2.   Nikita Kucherov, RW, Tampa Bay Lighting

Kucherov was simply unstoppable in January, leading all skaters with 31 points (nine goals, 22 assists) (!) in just 13 games, including a league-best 11 powerplay points. Despite several injuries to key Lightning players this year, Kucherov continues to operate on a different plane, driving Tampa Bay's offence shift after shift. While there's plenty of hockey left this season, Kuch's 137 82GP Pace through 49 games marks the second-best scoring pace of his entire NHL career.

1.   Andrei Vasilevskiy, G, Tampa Bay Lightning

In January, Vasilevskiy reminded the hockey world why he's a future first-ballot Hall of Famer and still among the best goaltenders in the entire league. Vasi went 9-0-1 in January with an eye-popping 1.37 GAA and .940 save percentage. In a position too often defined by inconsistency, Vasilevskiy delivered a consistently dominant month in net from start to finish.
