DFS Tuesday: Detroit’s Top Wingers; New Jersey’s Correlated Line; Bouchard’s Shot Volume, and More

Afternoon, everyone! I played last night and got cooked. I stacked the Vegas top line with Colorado's second line—you'd think with eight goals in that game there'd be more production from line two, but oh well. Some slates just get a little wonky.

I'm really liking what we've got lined up tonight. With fantasy championships underway and a loaded slate ahead, it could be a fun night of hockey.

Slate Preview

Detroit Red Wings

Pittsburgh is on the second half of a back‑to‑back and has been struggling defensively —and in net —for a while now. Going into yesterday, the Penguins had allowed four goals in five of their previous six games. This sets up as an excellent spot for Detroit. If I'm playing the Wings, it starts with an Alex DeBrincat–Lucas Raymond two‑man stack. DeBrincat is on a nine‑game point streak and driving play, and while this isn't the premier power‑play matchup on the slate, the even‑strength appeal alone makes this duo stand out. If you want to round it out, Moritz Seider offers clean correlation from the blue line for a 2F + D stack. Detroit gives you that option tonight.

New Jersey Devils

I could be going right back to the Devils tonight. I played New Jersey last week and it worked out great—wish the Nashville Predatorsstack I paired them with had done their part, but that Devils second line absolutely came through. Tonight, we're looking at the same setup: a fully correlated second line on the power play. They've cooled off a bit with the man advantage, but they'll face a Rangers team with the worst PK xGA over the past month. I lean toward the New Jersey second line again, though mixing in pieces of the top line is perfectly viable. The Rangers have been giving up around 4.25 goals per game recently, so there's nothing at even strength that scares me off. If the salary works, New Jersey looks like a strong play once again.

Winnipeg Jets

It's the Winnipeg Jets versus the Chicago Blackhawks – Marty McFly, "Hey, I've seen this one!" There's really nothing here that worries me about the matchup, outside of maybe Spencer Knight having a strong night in net. If I'm playing Winnipeg, I'm pushing the chips in. That means starting with the top line and potentially adding Cole Perfetti or Gabriel Vilardi from line two, plus Josh Morrissey on the blue line if you want full correlation. This isn't necessarily a single‑entry approach—I don't usually like putting all my eggs in one basket—but in multi‑entry formats, getting Jets exposure makes a lot of sense. In smaller fields, I don't even mind a Kyle Connor one‑off. He's been firing the puck with 32 shots over his last ten games. Chicago has allowed four or more goals in four of their last six, making Winnipeg one of the strongest options on the slate.

Defense

Evan Bouchard sits at the top of my board at $7,600. He's been automatic for three shots on goal and has points in six of his last seven games. Moritz Seider is a strong play with or without a Detroit stack at $6,300, and right below him I like Charlie McAvoy at $5,900. His ice time has been trending up, which keeps him in play even with the tougher matchup against Dallas. Lane Hutson remains a great option at $5,100. He's been excellent in DFS lately, and his salary has stayed steady around the $5K mark. After that, the board opens up with plenty of value options. Ryan Pulock should see an ice‑time bump with Tony DeAngelo out and is always live for the shot‑block bonus at $3,600. Sam Rinzel at $3,400 could also see more minutes for Chicago with Artyom Levshunov out. There are even two min‑priced options worth mentioning: Connor Clifton for Pittsburgh, who has hit the block bonus in a quarter of his games since March 1, and Jonas Siegenthaler, who has five assists in his last four games

Goalies

If I'm spending up at goalie tonight, Ukko‑Pekka Luukkonen is where I'd land. That said, there are cheaper options in good spots. Dan Vladar at $7,400 is a solid play on the road against Washington, and if Jakub Dobešgets the start for Montreal, he's an interesting option at $7,200. Yes, it's Tampa Bay, but at the very least he should see steady volume. Nights with thin goaltending pools always make me uneasy, but honestly, even the nights where I like the projected starters tend to feel that way. It's just the nature of the position in DFS.

That's it for now, best of luck tonight!
