Stepan it up

Lame title aside, Derek Stepan is playing some inspired hockey of late. He's been the Rangers best Centre and is only three points and one goal behind "superstar" Rick Nash's team leading 30 points and 13 goals respectively. In most fantasy leagues, Brad Richards and Rick Nash went many rounds ahead of Stepan, yet here we are about to enter the home stretch of this abbreviated season and Stepan is playing the best hockey of his career.
Flames Trade Jay Bouwmeester to Blues
Fantasy Impact: The Calgary Flames have traded defenseman Jay Bouwmeester to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for prospects Reto Berra, Mark Cundari and a conditional first-round draft pick. The condition being, if the Blues fail to make the playoffs this year that pick becomes a fourth for this summer plus a first in 2014.

Russian draft prospect Valentin Zykov plays for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in a town of close to 29, 000 people located six hours north of Quebec City. Picking up the Michel Bergeron Trophy for Offensive Rookie of the Year in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is one way to grab some attention, though.
