The year of 2012 is quickly becoming known for the number of substantial injuries and the infirmary isn’t limited to National Hockey League players.  The 2012 draft class has been hit harder than a tornado coming through Oklahoma City in the summer months.  However, if these injured draft eligible players can return to good health soon then there is hope that we can switch the focus of 2012 from the “Year of the Injured” to the “Year of the Defenseman,” as it should be.

Another good week last week, a 4-2 finish (I know Winnipeg won in OT and not the shootout so technically 3-3 for pro-line purposes) puts me at 9-3 over the past couple of weekends. Thunder is starting to slide as she only picked out two winners last week; the old girl needs a bounce back and fast. She’s got a couple of risky picks this week, but then again, all winning/losing streaks come to an end at some point.

 

It’s -400C here with the wind chill, so I’m looking forward to some nice hot cocoa with Bailey’s to keep me warm this Saturday while watching some NHL action. I would like to apologize ahead of time as I’ve been slightly distracted with my Niners playing in the NFC Championship Game this Sunday after that amazing game last weekend against the Saints, so if I slide a little, gimme a break, San Fran hasn’t been in the postseason since 2002. Fourteen games on the schedule, so let’s get to the easy money:
