Two weeks ago I debuted the Fantasy Hockey Stock Market, where you get the lowdown on what players are out there who are undervalued (i.e. guys to buy low), as well as players who are overvalued (i.e. guys to sell high). After a typical slow start, Roberto Luongo was put on the block in many fantasy leagues, as people were worried about the Canucks and Roberto in particular. Since then, he has four shutouts in five games and three straight, and the Canucks defence is back to being one of the league’s best. Hopefully you paid attention to the first article and sent out an offer to try and pry Luongo away from an impatient owner. Chris Drury has been on fire since that time as well, potting a hat trick and a few multi-point games along the way.

In doing some digging, DobberHockey has put together a "lowdown" of sorts on all the NHL rookies and their odds of sticking in the NHL for that 10th game. When a rookie plays 10 games, the first year of his entry-level deal kicks in. Generally, that means that the team will have to pay him a non-capped salary one year sooner than they would have. The entry-level cap is for three years, after which the player can make as much as 20 percent of the team's salary cap. So for fiscal reasons, the 10-game plateau is key.

Unlike Wall Street, there are some fantastic value buys right now in the fantasy hockey world. Every year GM’s frantically look to sell off undervalued and under performing players much too early. There are also a number of players who have a current value much higher than where it should be. (Aaron Voros, anyone?) It is time for you to capitalize…

When the Rangers made a huge splash last off-season with the signings of Scott Gomez and Chris Drury, it was assumed that those two would stabilize the center position in New York for the next half-decade. Although the center position is very stable, it is due in large part to the emergence of Brandon Dubinsky. His strong play has forced the Rangers to slide Drury to play right wing with Gomez. Dubinsky was fantastic in is rookie season skating with Jaromir Jagr, and he has continued his development this season skating on a line with Aaron Voros and Nikolai Zherdev.
