The July Roto Rankings have been updated to account for offseason trades and free agent signings. The stat categories for the Roto Rankings are as follows: Goals, Assists, Special Teams Points, Shots on Goal, Penalty Minutes, Hits, and Blocked Shots. These rankings are different from keeper rankings in that they don’t extend beyond the current [...]
Sean Monahan’s choice of Columbus on July 1 (5 years, $5.5 million) was an interesting one, not the least of which was a reunion with his former Flames linemate Johnny Gaudreau. The Blue Jackets already have a ton of money invested in Gaudreau, specifically five more years at $9.75 million per season. Gaudreau has failed [...]
This is a great time to mention that the Fantasy Hockey Guide will be available on July 29. Everything that you’ve come to know and love about the guide is included again this season – its 19th year. Preorder yours today! One of the sections I have been working on is hits. A few years [...]
Macklin Celebrini has signed his three-year, entry-level contract with the Sharks. As you probably know by now, Celebrini was the first overall pick in the recent 2024 entry draft. I’ve already seen questions about where to rank Celebrini. Well, you have an answer already, as he was included in Dobber’s Top 300 Keeper League Skaters. [...]
The Oilers have traded Ryan McLeod and Tyler Tullio to the Sabres for Matt Savoie. McLeod looked okay as a bottom-6 forward for the Oilers during the playoffs, but Savoie seems like a lot for the Sabres to give up for a return of McLeod and mid-level prospect Tullio. Savoie was the Sabres’ first-round pick [...]
July 1 was something, wasn’t it? I’ve had fantasy drafts that have taken longer than it took for most of the significant names to fall off the board. If there really is a tampering rule, then no one is following it. Vladimir Tarasenko was widely considered the top remaining free agent on the board after [...]
The Carolina Hurricanes have signed two key defensemen: Shayne Gostisbehere to a three-year contract with an average annual value of $3.2 million, and Sean Walker to a five-year contract with a $3.6 million AAV. The Hurricanes also signed William Carrier to a six-year contract with a $2 million AAV and extended Jaccob Slavin to an [...]
The Edmonton Oilers have signed winger Viktor Arvidsson to a two-year contract worth $4 million. The Oilers receive: Arvidsson, a scoring winger with decent upside who has battled his share of injuries as a Band-Aid Boy. Arvidsson was held to just 18 games in 2023-24 due to two separate injuries (back/lower-body), but he still registered [...]
The Boston Bruins have signed forward Elias Lindholm to a seven-year contract with an average annual value of $7.75 million. The Bruins have also signed defenseman Nikita Zadorov to a six-year contract with a $5 million AAV. The Bruins receive: Lindholm, an effective two-way center who can check many boxes from a real-life perspective. He [...]
The Vancouver Canucks have signed winger Jake DeBrusk to a 7-year contract with a $5.5 million average annual value. The Canucks have also signed forwards Kiefer Sherwood (2 yrs, $1.5 million) and Danton Heinen (2 yrs, $2.25 million), as well as defenseman Derek Forbort (1 yr, $1.5 million). https://twitter.com/Canucks/status/1807813504549925202 The Canucks receive: DeBrusk, who hasn’t [...]
