Look for the Roto Rankings to be released today with some major changes. I will have full details then. As a spoiler, I’m going to be receiving some assistance and insight that I think will make the rankings even better. Another spoiler: There will be changes to some of the categories used to rank players. [...]
First, an update on what I wrote yesterday. It appears that Yahoo has updated its forward positions to give some wingers their rightful designations. I’m not going to take credit for the update, simply because a) the update was probably in the works before the Ramblings were published, and b) others, such as Shayna Goldman, [...]
I don’t have any specific data on this, but Yahoo is probably the most-used fantasy hockey platform out there. That’s why it’s unfortunate when they can’t seem to get the positions right for a significant number of forwards. In particular, many wingers are listed as centers. Here’s an example: https://twitter.com/keepingkarlsson/status/1698785592249573601 I should start this by [...]
For the last 20 years (12 with The Hockey News) Dobber has reviewed each team from a fantasy-hockey standpoint and graded them. The 21st annual review will appear here on DobberHockey throughout the summer. This is not a review of the likely performance on the ice or in the standings, but in the realm of [...]

Yesterday I listed some potential sleepers for the upcoming season. Not all of them might qualify as sleepers in your league – yes, shout out to those of you who didn’t think Evan Bouchard was a sleeper. It all depends on the type of league (keeper/non-keeper) and the size. What if I said don’t sleep [...]
One common question that I get asked leading up to fantasy drafts is which players I like as potential sleepers. This season I’ll try to be proactive and jump on that question early. Keep in mind that leagues come in all different shapes and sizes, so what may be a sleeper for one may not [...]
According to Elliotte Friedman, Phil Kessel would like to play in 2023-24 and is not concerned about his ironman streak ending. Kessel suited up for just four playoff games during the Golden Knights’ run to the Stanley Cup, but playoff games don’t count in an ironman streak. However, his playoff deployment should probably foreshadow the [...]
There are some new stats for goalies on Frozen Tools: Quality Weeks, Really Bad Weeks, and Star Weeks. If they sound familiar, they are simply the Quality Starts and Really Bad Starts stats expanded to a week. They are the brainchild of Ryan Brudner, who you might know as @fantasycheddar on Twitter. https://twitter.com/FrozenTools/status/1693998288645788078 By the [...]
Finding content to write about during the dead of summer is a real challenge, so I might as well try to kill two birds with one stone. That’s why I’m practicing my skills by participating in mock drafts and writing about them afterward. Hopefully it helps you in some way with your draft while covering [...]
