Lancione takes a look at Nazem Kadri's incredibly 2013 campaign.

It is amazing what can transpire over the course of two months in hockey. Often times, athletes struggle to combine their natural gifts with the polish, the effort, the discipline, the defensive awareness and sense of responsibility at the same time.

Anthony Lancione lets us know how the games on Saturday will play out.

En fuego! Good afternoon poolies. Hope you’ve been following this steamboat the last few weeks, as we at DobberHockey have been On the Money! Last columns I followed up a 5-for-6 week by running off with a clean sweep, correctly nailing 11 of my last 12 picks! Last week Marty started off in a small hole before nailing all 4 night caps to continue the strong momentum forward.

Lets try to keep this hot streak rolling and get right into the six-pack slate for this Saturday.

Forensics: Mike Cammalleri

Mike Cammalleri USA Today

Can Mike Cammalleri get his groove back? Anthony Lancione takes a look.

Former top line sniper Mike Cammalleri is really vying to remove that prefix these days. Cammalleri, once a point-a-game player, netted close to 40 goals in two separate seasons. The peak of his powers were enjoyed back in the 2008-2009 campaign (below) where he finished a hair under 40 goals while putting up points with regularity.

Anthony Lancione breaks down Saturday's NHL action.

Last week was almost a neat sweep for me, starting out a perfect four for four on the Saturday slate, including correctly (and boldly I might add) pinning Edmonton and Phoenix to go to shootouts. Moreover, I pegged the Oilers to take it, eventually finishing off five for six on the night. This week, I’ll look to build on that momentum and get on a bit of a roll!

Forensics: Claude Giroux

ClaudeGiroux USA Today

Anthony Lancione breaks down Giroux's slow start.

Claude Giroux, who blossomed into a 90+ point producer last season, has struggled out of the gate in 2013. Why? His PPG (points per game) last season of 1.21 put him up with the likes of Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby with regards to offensive production. However, four weeks into 2013, his underwhelming 0.57 PPG drop-off marks less than half the rate of production he was accumulating last season.

Good afternoon poolies! As divisional and conference races only begin to increasingly intensify in the coming days and weeks, we can be sure for yet another fun filled slate this Saturday evening. There are several close-to-call matchups, but I’ll do my best to guide you through them. The last few weeks I’ve been splitting my picks. So-so I suppose, but if my ‘slump’ is running off at a .500 clip, then I suppose it’s not the worst vibe to be on for a turnaround week, where I aim to hit at a high percentage once more.

Ladies and gentlemen, let’s get to the six pack.

Saturday’s NHL Picks – March 3rd

It’s the first weekend of March. Do you feel it?! The last full month of the regular season is now underway. Divisional and conference races are tightening. The playoff picture is slowly, yet increasingly become clearer. Some franchises are surging, some collapsing. Scoring races are beginning to crystallize as the 3 headed monster of Malkin, Stamkos & Giroux have set themselves apart from the crop. The triumph in cementing a spot in the top 16, the disappointment Leaf Nation of missing the playoffs each and every single post lockout season. I can hardly wait to see how these last six weeks unfold.

Without further ado, this weekend’s Six-Pack!

Saturday’s NHL Picks – February 18

Short schedule from which to select my card this week, but nonetheless there are certainly some beauts that are ripe for the picking! Last week, I presented you my picks just after a brisk skate down the Rideau Canal, during my road trip to Ottawa from Toronto to see the Sens/Leafs contest lopsided pounding. Toronto thoroughly obliterated their provincial rivals in each and every facet of the game except SOG. However on that note, Optimus Reim was so in the zone that even a 49 shot barrage was converted into a goose egg, as the Leafs took it to the very team they are closest to chasing by a 5-0 score.

Happy Belated New Year’s Poolies!

It’s been quite a week in the NHL, with an even further intensified playoff race in both conferences coming to the forefront of late with Gary Bettman’s High Parity NHL. Should be another amazing winter of exciting meaningful hockey (for most teams) down the stretch!

After a solid 1 month run of going at over an 80% clip, I split my picks in half last column. This week I’m banking on yet another above .500 card. So without further ado….

Happy Holidays Folks!

It’s been an enjoyable week of hockey during the Christmas break to say the least. From an eventful NHL schedule to the World Juniors and of course, HBO’s 24/7 the lead-up to this weekend’s Winter Classic, I’m loving it, and I’m sure many of you are as well!

Anyhow, onto a quick recap of my last card. I followed up my perfect week with nearly another, as I headed into the late games undefeated. However, I ended up missing the final two results by a single goal, yet remain with an above 80% run dating back to late November. Here’s to keeping the hot streak alive.
