Eastern Edge

Well here we go – after reading DobberHockey articles daily for countless years, I am going to attempt to shed some light using the advice I’ve gathered here and adding some risk-adverse statistical spin to what has, is, and will be happening in the Eastern Conference.   If you’re like me, you’re still stewing over the [...]

Now that we’re getting to the short strokes of the 2017-18 campaign, with only a handful of games remaining, we have a number of “season-ending” injuries playing havoc with our fantasy rosters. This week’s fantasy focus player has been known to miss a game or two dozen in his short career.   Fantasy Focus   [...]

With less than three weeks remaining until the start of the post season, it’s going to be tough waiting until April 8th before being completely immersed in so many awesome playoff skirmishes. Until then, we’ll have to settle for the battles by teams trying to punch their playoff dance cards.   Fantasy Focus   [...]

With the pressure off of those teams who are out of the playoff race, many teams are playing all loosey-goosey. I love that Jimmy Vesey had a hat trick for the Rangers last night and that Seth Jones add two big power play points as Columbus fights for a playoff position. The Sens Magnus [...]

It’s good to be back after more than two weeks away (on vacation) from pretty much everything, including hockey. I did manage to catch a few games late last week, but I’ve got nearly a two-week hockey black hole to catch up on.   For a while, I’ve been thinking about putting this weekly [...]

This week, the Eastern Edge will take a look at some Eastern Conference players who are very likely to help you win your league with a sweet second half.   I wrote in this year’s DobberHockey Fantasy Guide that the Flyers Travis Konecny was one of my Sleepers in the East. That prediction didn’t [...]

This week, the Eastern Edge will take a closer look at the goaltending in the Eastern Conference. Just looking at the numbers between East versus West and it is much more preferable to own a Western Conference goaltender if your league counts goals-against averages and save percentages.   All the statistics that follow are [...]

With much of Eastern Canada and United States recently experienced or still enduring a deep freeze, I thought it would be nice to look at who, from the Eastern Conference, might be heating up and if they might be available to help your fantasy roster.   The Blue Jackets are blessed with two young, [...]
