Lucas Main breaks down the latest fantasy information from the Western Conference – the streaks, the slumps, the line combinations and much more.
I’ve tried to come up with a Core Three for each team in the West in 2020 and 2021 and figured it was time for the 2022 version. This is never as easy as it seems as there are a few factors that come into play, like long-term contracts, blue-chip prospects and emerging players that [...]
I have tried to check in on goalie usage a few times this season as things change more often than they have in the past. Most starting goalies don’t play more than 60 games anymore and the typical sweet spot for playoff-bound teams is 50-55 games for the starter to make sure he is fresh [...]
The trade deadline is in a few weeks (March 21st) and we are going to look at my top 20 trade targets in the West. Currently, the teams on the outside of the playoffs are Arizona, Seattle, Chicago, San Jose, Winnipeg, Vancouver and Anaheim. On the bubble are Edmonton, Dallas and Vegas. Buyers with cap [...]
We did an early check-in in Mid-November here about the power plays in the West and how each team was doing and what players' ice time and production were. Three months later we will see where teams and players have been trending. I’m going to be using PPP/60Min. The best players typically come in between [...]
I hope everyone enjoyed Super Bowl Sunday and having to watch the four NHL games in the morning (on the West Coast at least). For this article, I’m going to focus on some players in the West and look at who has played 300 NHL games or more and are pushing for career-highs in goals [...]
Last week we looked at 15 teams that the Kraken chose players from in the 2021 Expansion Draft. This week we will continue in alphabetical order from Minnesota through to Winnipeg and look a little deeper at the player they took and the players that were available to them. Montreal Canadiens Picked - Cale Fleury [...]
At the midseason mark of the Seattle Kraken’s first NHL season, I thought it would be an interesting exercise to see what players they chose from each club and what players they passed on. I’m not going to include players that were unrestricted free agents as Seattle could have been in on any of those [...]
We looked at some of the early MVPs and MDPs from each team in the West on November 8 and now that we are at the midseason mark, I thought we could revisit and see what players have emerged or continued their fine year or vice versa. Anaheim MVP: Troy Terry (Ryan Getzlaf was the [...]
I’ve seen a fair share of graphs over the years that depict a decline in play from most players after a certain age, or a certain amount of games. I thought I would look at it myself as a little project and ended up losing myself down a bit of a rabbit hole. Alex Ovechkin, [...]
We did a similar column last season, but I thought we would look at each category this time instead of by the team. All shots are not equal and this kind of analysis is focused on the bigger picture and the philosophy that you can’t score if you don’t shoot. All stats are taken from [...]
