When you see a team has scored seven goals in a game, you naturally assume that your player on that team might have had a big game. That’s why it’s a surprise that the point leaders in the Penguins’ 7-3 win over New Jersey were… Connor Dewar, Philip Tomasino, and Conor Timmins? Dewar led the [...]
The Golden Knights and Adin Hill agreed to a six-year, $37.5 million contract extension on Friday. Hill’s cap hit will increase from $4.9 million this season to $6.25 million starting next season. Hill has solidified himself as Vegas’ starting goalie with solid numbers (24-11-4, 2.53 GAA, .906 SV%, 4 SO). The Stanley Cup-winning goalie has [...]
Several recently acquired players played their first games with their new teams on Saturday, so let’s check in on some of those key names. Two players that wear the number 96 made their debuts with their new teams in Edmonton. We’ll start with Mikko Rantanen, who jumped into the Stars’ lineup a day after officially [...]
The trade deadline came and went on Friday with lots of activity. For a full list of trades, go to the Trade Deadline Tracker. For the most impactful trades from a fantasy perspective, go to our Fantasy Takes page. I don’t usually reinvent the wheel and break down the key trades in the Ramblings if [...]
The day before the deadline saw plenty of trades as teams stock up for playoff runs or to simply try to get better for the future. I won’t break down or even list every trade that happened today in here because there were quite a few. Instead, I’ll direct you to the Trade Deadline Tracker, [...]
After I mentioned the recent lack of trades yesterday, three separate deals were made on Saturday. The biggest one for fantasy purposes and probably in real life too saw Chicago trade Seth Jones and a fourth-round pick to Florida for Spencer Knight and a first-round pick. For more on the trade, check out the Fantasy [...]
Kirby Dach will miss the rest of the regular season after undergoing right knee surgery. Dach was the third overall pick in 2019 by Chicago, but his development has unfortunately been stalled by multiple injuries, hence the Band-Aid Boy designation. Dach has not played 60 games in a season for the past three seasons, while [...]
With Saturday being the first day of NHL action since the 4 Nations Face-Off, I’ll try to pay special attention to players who participated at the tournament – particularly those who played in the memorable championship game between Canada and the United States. Let’s start with what could be a major blow to fantasy teams. [...]
Kevin Lankinen entered the season as an insurance experienced backup goalie for the Canucks, who didn’t know how long Thatcher Demko would be sidelined. With Lankinen providing steady goaltending and Demko held to 17 games and injured again, Lankinen’s stock has soared to the point where the Canucks have extended Lankinen for a five-year extension [...]
That was a fun week and a half, wasn’t it? As a Canadian, I was 100% prepared to say that even if Canada didn’t win. If you’re an American, hopefully you concur. In the end, the big winner is the game of hockey, which generated the kind of buzz that it hasn't had for quite [...]
