And the ribs of Oilernation were once again cracked and the heart of the team torn out, still beating... so to speak. But wallowing in depression after losing Captain Canada hasn't stopped me from letting you know all about the young guns moved February 27th.

Tuesday, February 27 is the NHL trade deadline and in many hockey pools the deadline is close to, if not exactly, the same time. Those of you in one-year pools may not have as many big decisions to make as keeper-league poolies, but the pressure is still great and the need for swift action is equally strong.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded winger Nikita Alexeev to the Chicago Blackhawks for Karl Stewart and a sixth-round draft pick. Don't underestimate this deal, poolies.
The Boston Bruins have traded underachieving sophomore Brad Boyes to the St. Louis Blues for rearguard Dennis Wideman.
The Edmonton Oilers did NOT sign Ryan Smyth, contrary to what some sources reported. As such, they traded the career-Oiler to the New York Islanders, but got impressive return for him.
