Avery to the Rangers

The Los Angeles Kings have traded centre Sean Avery and junior prospect John Seymour to the New York Rangers for right winger Jason Ward along with prospects Marc-Andre Cliche and Jan Marek.
Rangers: Pick up arguably the best agitator in the game.avery

Kings: In Ward they receive another fourth line player so they obviously did the deal for Cliche and Marek. Both prospects have 70-point upside in the NHL and both are ranked in the 200-210 range on my Top Fantasy Prospects list. They should move up this list on their new team, since LA is rebuilding and there will be room. In Marek's case, he needs to be coaxed over to North America. He currently leads his team in scoring in the Russian League. Look for LA to successfully bring him over next season.

Fantasy Players Impacted: If he doesn't distract his new team, he will definitely distract the opposition. Avery may be able to create room for Jagr – not through muscle, but through his own unique way of getting under everyone's skin. He will get an audition as the second-line center…but that couldn't possibly work – Shanahan deserves better.

Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.
