Sharp as Sabres

There are several tough match-ups in round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs. In last night’s games, both Buffalo and Anaheim were favored to win. It is possible they may eventually meet up in the finals. Before both teams can think about that, they must concentrate on their current series.

As expected, the first round in the Western Conference was full of excitement and close games.  There were no upsets, as the top four seeds all advanced, with the Vancouver Canucks being the only top seed to be pushed to a deciding seventh game.  In this week’s article I will take a closer look at the two match-ups in the West.

Burnsy's picks are now in the DobberHockey Round 2 article. All the picks are in and we now have panel consensus.  Both Sami Salo and Kevin Bieksa are out for Game 1 tonight.  Salo has a bruised tailbone and Bieksa remains sidelined with the flu.  Rookie Alex Edler and veteran Rory Fitzpatrick will replace them.  Central Scouting [...]

Impressive. That's an understatement, when describing the boys at DobberHockey.com. Individually, some were good...and most were average. Collectively, we were a force.

 

In the first round, the DobberHockey.com panel went 7-1 in their prognostications, only getting the Ottawa/Pittsburgh series wrong - but it was close, as three out of seven of us chose Ottawa.
