Tomas Holmstrom will be back in the Detroit lineup for Game 4. He missed the first three with an eye injury, but he is ready now.

Only five Ottawa forwards had more than 14 minutes ice time. Besides the usual three, Mike Fisher and Antoine Vermette were the other two.

Bryan Little will now get his pro shot. The Chicago Wolves have signed the Atlanta (top) prospect to an tryout contract and he may see some action in the Calder Cup playoff.

The Toronto Sun reported that Mats Sundin will undergo hip surgery that is similar to the operation that Alexander Mogilny had and pretty much ended Mogilny's career. JFJ denies these claims and is very upset with the Sun for reporting it. Sundin's agent J.P. Barry also denies the story and states that Sundin is simply going for a routine medical examination, nothing more. Sources suggest that Sundin consulted outside doctors without the club knowing. Regardless…if you are in trade talks involving the acquisition of Sundin in your keeper league…press 'pause' for now.

Dion Phaneuf is going to the World's. Florida's recent signee Colin Murphy is the only non-NHLer on the roster…this may take him off the roster. If he stays, then we get an idea of how good he is.

Trevor Linden and Taylor Pyatt lead the Canucks in scoring after 10 games. They would have 48 points in an 80-game season at this pace.

Evgeni Nabokov has a goals against average of 2.01. Terrible. Just terrible. He couldn't stop a beachball! I kid, of course. That is a stellar average. Funny thing is – it ranks ninth. Eight goalies have a GAA under 2.00. This is the "new" NHL?

Lindy Ruff (and the Buffalo Media) is speculating that Tim Connolly may be promoted to the first line and move Briere to the left wing. Pominville would be the other linemate. Regardless of if that happens, Connolly's ice time will start to go up now.

The people have spoken. Here is the design for the new dobberhockey shirt:
