Anze Kopitar was not even nominated for the Calder Trophy. Jordan Staal got the nod over him.

Philly prospect Steve Downie underwent shoulder surgery on Thursday to repair a torn labrum. The recovery time is eight to 10 weeks, so he will be fine for training camp – and I would expect him to crack the lineup.

Phoenix has a list of nine prospective GM's, but do not yet have permission from other teams to talk to them just yet. The names are not released, but speculation includes Steve Tambellini, Don Maloney, Craig Button and Jim Nill.

Mark Smith will play with Brown and Bernier on the fourth line. Other lines are Clowe, Marleau and Grier, Rissmiller, Goc and Guerin, Thornton, Michalek and Cheechoo.

Todd Marchant, who had hernia surgery a month ago, is eyeing a Thursday return to the lineup. If not, you should see him back on Sunday.

E.J. Hradek, ESPN.com: "Scratch Todd Bertuzzi. He has quietly been killing his new team with bad penalties, poor decisions and weak puck play. … The Wings are better off without him."

Nashville prospect forward Patric Hornqvist this season broke Forsberg's rookie record for goals in the Swedish elite league. He was just off my top 200 fantasy prospects…but will surely move up quickly when I update next week.

Maxim Afinogenov was a healthy scratch last night. Ruff doesn't mess around. Danny Paille was inserted into the lineup in Afinogenov's place. I would expect Afinogenov back in the lineup next game.

Jeff Cowan underwent knee surgery yesterday and will out of the Vancouver lineup for (likely) the rest of the playoff.

Sami Salo returned to action last night and played almost 24 minutes. Kevin Bieksa also returned and logged just under 21 minutes. His return came as a surprise.

Sergei Kostitsyn, with his team the London Knights eliminated from qualifying for the Memorial Cup, will see some action for Hamilton.

With Hartford being eliminated from the Calder Cup Playoff, the Rangers have recalled 10 players, including Jarko Immonen, Hugh Jessiman, Al Montoya, Nigel Dawes and Alex Bourret.  Of that group,  I would only expect Immonen as a slight possibility to see game action.

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
