The Pens have signed Jeff Taffe. Taffe has had a miserably disappointing career so far, but last season showed some promise by forcing his way onto the Coyotes and actually sticking. However, the Pens are full at center so I don't see him cracking the squad. He is ranked #212 on my prospects list.

Earth-shattering news. The Sens' problems are all solved now. They have signed Nikos Dimitrakos to a contract. He might crack the lineup, but he'll be a fringe player at best.

I wrote today's weekly slate – a nice little round up of the moves over the last week. You can read it HERE.

The only unsigned Dallas players are Antti Mietinen and Jussi Jokinen. Miettinen is going to arbitration.

Brenden Bell has signed a one-year deal with the Coyotes. He will be battling Matt Jones for the No.7 role on the team, unless they can move Nick Boynton.

The Islanders have signed rearguard Aaron Johnson to a contract. The 24-year-old had 10 points in 61 contests for Columbus last season.

The Thrashers have signed winger Jesse Schultz to a deal. He'll battle Darren Haydar for a depth winger position with the team. Neither one will likely be a fantasy factor, although in the right circumstance that could certainly change.

The News & Observer is reporting that Erik Cole still feels pain in his neck and may never have full range of motion. He played through it last year and will continue playing through it. Just an FYI

Patrick Berglund, No. 24 on my prospects list, is having a great prospect camp in St. Louis. He will be playing in Sweden this year, but look for him to make a big splash next year.

The Wild signed goaltender Anton Kudobin to the minimum entry level contract. He will be looking to back up Nolan Schaefer in Houston of the AHL.

Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
