According to 640Toronto, Brian Murray announced that he had a deal in place for Redden at the draft, but Redden refused to waive his no-trade clause. The only reason Murray would make this public is to pressure Redden into accepting a deal, otherwise why make it public?
Mike Cammalleri will be going to arbitration, as he cannot come up with an agreement with the Kings according to TSN.ca.
Eric and Jordan Staal were arrested last night as Eric's bachelor party got out of hand. Eric actually spent the night in jail. They were charged, as well as 12 others, with disorderly conduct and disrupting the legal process. Jordan was also charged with drinking under age
Chicago signed Patrick Kane to a three-year entry level deal. I expect Kane to make the team this year and post 55 to 60 points.
Atlanta re-signed Jim Slater. If he doesn't post at least 40 points this year, I'll mark him as a fantasy bust. I had expected him to show signs of a future 60-point player by now.
Breaking News: Oleg Saprykin has returned to Russia and is apparently going to sign with HC CSKA of the Russian Super League. There are two other Russian teams interested, but he will be signing to play in the RSL next season.
The Blues have signed Lee Stempniak to a three-year contract extension worth $7.5 million. With Paul Kariya on the team, Stempniak may clear 65 points this season.
Tampa has signed winger Karl Stewart to a two-way deal, which pretty much means he'll spend the season in the AHL.
The Sens have signed Christoph Schubert to a three-year deal. You want to lock up that gem for as long as you can…
Besides Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre, who signed with the Devils a week ago, the team has signed forward Noah Clarke, defenseman Ian Moran and they re-signed Cam Janssen.
Former Calgary backup Jamie McLennan has signed a contract with Metallurg of the Russian Super League.
Filip Novak signed to play in the Czech League next season.
The Sharks re-signed left wing Tomas Plihal to a contract. He will not be a fantasy factor this year.
