Vrbata’s off to Phoenix
The Phoenix Coyotes have acquired winger Radim Vrbata from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for center Kevin Adams.

The Isles have signed Andy Sutton to a three-year deal. If the Band-Aid boy can play 70 games he should be good for 110+ penalty minutes. The Sens have signed Justin Mapletoft, who played in Germany last season. The former CHL All-Star is likely not going to be a big NHL contributer in the future and [...]
Rob Schremp suffered a quad injury - that was why things were moving along slowly (as reported a few days ago in my ramblings). He should still be fine for training camp and will battle Andrew Cogliano for the final center's job. Mike Peca is only talking to the Rangers right now. The Coyotes signed Joel Perrault [...]

Wow - brain freeze. I know I wrote about Karel Pilar somewhere (the Forecaster maybe?)...but apparently, it wasn't on this, my own, site. D'oh! Well here goes - Karel Pilar jeopardizes the chances of one of Mark Popovic, Nathan Oystrick and Tobias Enstrom of making the team. I think Pilar could make this team and [...]

Here's an interesting one - the Jackets have signed Kris Beech. Seeing as they do not have a first line center (no, Fedorov is not one), he could go from bust to hero in an awful hurry. He will compete with Geoff Platt for top line duties (believe it or not - seems hard to [...]
Inspired by my latest holiday.
It’s late July and I’m enjoying a nice cruise on the Baltic Sea. As usual, my mind begins to wander, but my thoughts never stray too far from hockey.
I started thinking about how different the trip might have been if I was there as a hockey reporter/writer as opposed to just being a tourist.
Steve Sullivan's back is rehabbing well, but he has yet to get back onto the ice. He is hoping to skate sometime in August and his target is to be healthy by training camp. We'll know better where he is at in a few weeks. SPECTOR is reporting that Jan Bulis is close to signing a [...]
