The expert draft is starting shortly after 10. I posted a thread in the "one year" section of the forum that I will maybe try and update occasionally if there is time…

Ryan Stone has a goal and three assists for the Penguins in two games in the rookie tournament. He is still battling problems with his some (surgery in the spring to fix chronic dislocation) so just be aware of that problem. There will be a battle between he and Jonathan Filewich for the final spot up front.

"Starting a Pool"…Keeper League Version #6 has now been added.

Sam Gagner was the MVP of the Super Series. Kyle Turris scored seven goals to lead in that category.  Gagner has shot up the draft lists of many people that I have spoken to over the past week.

Florida prospect Janis Sprukts has signed to play in Finland this season, as was the rumor several weeks ago.

Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe told me that Carl Soderberg is not in camp and if he does arrive it will be late. A combination of his eye injury still healing and the fact that the Boston roster will be too tough to crack is leading him to believe that Soderberg will wait one more year and give it a shot next year. This opens the door wide open for the surging David Krejci, who is pretty much earning a third-line center job.

Cal Clutterbuck has three points in two games for the Wild at the rookie tournament so far. Clutterbuck is about four years away from the NHL yet, but this bodes well for his transition to the pro game.

For the record, James Sheppard has one point, an assist, in that tournament so far. He is playing with Clutterbuck.

Chris Stewart has been the Avs' most impressive rookie over the past week. He's a bit of a long shot to crack the roster.

Alexander Nikulin has been Ottawa's top rookie to date (in their tournament in Kitchener). The young center has a deal that will see him go back to Russia if he does not make the squad, so he could latch on as a fourth-liner for the Sens. He is ranked 139 on my Fantasy Prospect List (before today's update).

From the Ottawa Sun: "Former Senators GM John Muckler's deal to send RW Martin Havlat to Chicago in a three-way trade with San Jose last summer could be one of the worst moves in Ottawa's history. GM Bryan Murray confirmed D Michal Barinka, who spent part of last year in Binghamton, won't be back this year, which means C Josh Hennessy is the only remaining player from the trade in the organization. D Tom Preissing signed with Los Angeles as a UFA in the summer. "I don't want (Barinka) back. He doesn't want to be here," said Murray."

"Looking Ahead", a new feature on DobberHockey, is now up and running. You can find it via the menu on the left-hand side. Have a look – comments are welcome in the forum.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk. They also cover Jarry’s AHL demotion, Cooley’s ascension to the top-line and powerplay, and injuries to Tavares and Hintz. The duo wrap up with some hot and cold streak deep dives, including discussion of the Red Wings crazy powerplay success in the last ten games, whether Erik Gustafsson is rosterable or an overperforming illusion, Fantilli’s continued success, Merilainen as Hamburglar 2.0, and whether Schenn’s success and Neighbours’ lack thereof are likely to continue.
