2007-11-03

Angus here, I'll be putting up some tidbits later on in the day while Dobber is away.

Peter Budaj is getting the start tonight against the Canucks.

Look for Alexander Edler to see a lot of PP time with the Canucks top three offensive d-men all out for the next month.

One of the quietest off-season pickups, Radek Bonk has been outstanding for the Preds this season, notching his fifth goal last night.

Daniel Carcillo had a goal and an assist last night, and looks to have the full confidence of the 'Yotes coaching staff.  He is an option for any league that counts PIM.

Dan Ellis-another start and another win, only giving up 1 goal on the road. Do not activate Mason until Ellis has a bad game or two.

Patrick Kane has received rookie of the month honors after his 5 goal, 11assist performance for 16 points in the month of October. It will be fun to watch him and Toews for years to come.

San Jose signed well travelled defenceman Sandis Ozolinsh yesterday and he was quickly inserted in the lineup where he played over 20 mins., including 5 on the PP. This situation bears watching because San Jose could all of sudden go nutty with their offence. He may be worth a pickup in leagues with unlimited transactions.

Mikael Tellqvist recorded a shutout against the Stars last night-I wonder if the Leafs brass was watching?? Also of note PIM leader from a year ago Josh Gratton got into his first game after a preseason hand injury and did not disappoint. He engaged Brad Winchester from Edmonton in a 1st period scrap. This is also noatable because Phoenix is a 500 club with him in the lineup.

The Oilers lost another defenceman last night after Mathieu Roy was hit by the"TooToo" train. He left with a separated shoulder. I wonder if Lowe and McTavish can still play "D".

Dallas has sent down Joel Lundqvist and recalled preseason scoring star Chris Connor from Iowa. Connor will get a look on the top 2 lines given Dallas' scoring woes so keep an eye on this situation.

Richard Zednik has quietly stepped up his production since "Rusty" Olesz went down with his hand injury. Zednik now has 7 points in 11 games, including 5 goals.

J.S Aubin did in fact get the start last night for the Kings and was sensational in their 5-2 win. Also former Midwestern Junior B(southwestern ontario) MVP Matt Moulson scored in his NHL debut for the Kings.

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
