Gaborik missed last night's contest with his groin injury. Shocked?

Dan Boyle underwent surgery Friday on his left wrist. The tendons had not healed properly healed and so they actually transferred part of the tendon from his index finger to the wrist. The surgery was a success and Boyle will be on the shelf for a few weeks, followed by extensive rehab. It is looking as if he will be gone until sometime in January.

Colorado checker Ian Laperriere sprained his knee last night and will be out for 2-4 weeks.

Mike Peca will not be in the Jackets lineup tonight and is day to day. Kris Beech, who has 15 points in 16 AHL games, has been recalled.

Fredrik Modin has been placed on IR retroactive to November 2 with back spasms. He is not close at all to skating again.

Duvie Westcott's conditioning stint in the AHL is over and he has been recalled. He had three points in two AHL contests.

The Jackets are back to using Fedorov on the top line with Nash and Vyborny. Other combos: Novotny with Zherdev and Glencross, Malhotra with Fritsche and Chimera, Beech with Brule and Boll. Pascal Leclaire will get the start tonight.

The Predators will likely go with the following lines: Arnott with Erat and Dumont, Legwand with Fiddler and Radulov, Bonk with Smithson and Ortmeyer, Nichol with Gelinas and Tootoo. Mason will likely get the start tonight.

Dobberhockey has had updated line combos for several weeks now and the moderators have been great staying on top of it. Here are all the updated NHL line combinations.

Henrik Zetterberg extended his point streak to 17 games.

Jiri Hudler played 14:34 last night, including 4:17 on the PP and he rewarded his coach with a two-point effort. He has six points in his last six games.

The Bruins have returned Tuuka Rask and Matt Lashoff to Providence. Manny Fernandez is now eligible to come off the IR list, but as of this morning the Bruins have not activated him, although sending Rask down would indicate that the decision is on the way.

The injury to Pavel Kubina's knee is looking somewhat serious and he will be out "indefinitely". The team is not admitting that the MCL has a tear, but something has happened to it that will keep him on the shelf for awhile.

Rookie goalie Ondrej Pavelec is 3-2-0, .917 and 2.71 which are better numbers by far than what Hedberg or Lehtonen can boast.

Andrew Ladd (ankle) hopes to practice with the team Tuesday.

The Hawks home game was on TV for the first time last night and … yet the game sold out. Hmmm… look as if the late Bill Wirtz's theory was not correct.

Interesting – Wild rookie James Sheppard has moved into ex-NHLer Darby Hendrickson's basement.

Martin Brodeur goes for his 500th win against the Pens tonight. Sabourin will get the start for Pittsburgh. While the Pens have given up six PP goals in the last two games, the Devils are in a 0-17 PP slump of late.

If you are in a rotisserie league that requires weekly roster decisions, then "Looking Ahead" is for you. It gives you the lowdown on the best teams to select your players within a seven-day span, as well as the teams to stay away from.

Sami Kapanen is targetting a Thursday return to the Flyers lineup. Simon Gagne is feeling a little better and is getting rehydrated.

Bill Guerin is questionable for tonight's game. He was hit in the eye and forehead with a puck in the game on Saturday.

Miroslav Satan has eight points in his last six games, including three straight game winning goals.

Cam Ward has allowed four or more goals in three of his last five contests.

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
