The Caps dropped the 'interim' tag from Bruce Boudreau's title. He is now the head coach.
Martin Erat will play tonight, and it will be on a line with Radulov and Fiddler. Weber is out for sure.
Dan Ellis will start for the fourth time in five games tonight.
The Red Wings have signed Lidstrom to a two-year contract extension. I had figured he may go back to Sweden, but we have him for another two years after this one. That certainly boosts his value.
Chicago placed Martin Havlat on IR (there's something I never get to type) and have recalled Martin St.Pierre. I'm a fan of this guy and I will be watching him, especially if he gets opportunity.
The Penguins are 4-10-1 when playing teams in their division.
Maxime Talbot is frustrated with his high ankle sprain. He will try skating today, but it sounds like he'll be out for awhile yet.
From the Chicago Daily Herald: Havlat injured his groin in Saturday's win at Ottawa and is probably looking at a few weeks on the shelf.
David Bolland's broken finger will keep him on the shelf for four weeks or more.
SPECTOR is reporting on a whole slew of trade rumors today, including heavy talks between the Jackets and Rangers.
Phil Kessel has just nine points in his last 25 contests.
Glen Murray (hip flexor) will be out for at least one more week – this looks like one of those things where the return just keeps getting pushed back.
Chris Osgood will get the start today, Hasek starts tomorrow.
Martin Erat is still questionable tonight with his illness.
Shea Weber is also questionable. He has a leg injury, but the Tennessean is not reporting anything beyond that.
Francois Beauchemin is pointless in his last eight and is a minus-5 in that span.
