Tobias Enstrom and Niclas Havelid both were a mind-boggiling +1 in the 10-1 demolishing at the hands of the Sabres tonight.

HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN. Looks like Crosby will be out for six weeks. Well, if my experts league wasn't dead and buried before…it sure is now!

Seeing the slo-mo replay of that leg going into the boards – this could be a long-term thing. I will post as soon as I hear more.

Sidney Crosby went into the boards awkwardly and injured his knee. He was helped off the ice, and it looked pretty bad. Stay tuned…

The Sharks have recalled Devin Setoguchi from the AHL. He may have a quick impact again, just like before, so keep an eye on it.

The Panthers have recalled Shawn Matthias from the OHL. I don't see big minutes, but I do like his career as a power forward.

The Blues have recalled Hannu Toivonen and sent down Marek Schwarz.

Daniel Alfredsson is questionable Saturday with a hip injury. The Senators' big guns will be healthy and well rested just in time for the playoffs, it would seem Watch this team.

Jason Williams underwent hernia surgery and will be out for the next six weeks.

Tomorrow, Steve Downie will be in the lineup against Dean McAmmond and the Sens since that much balleyhooed headshot in the preseason. Expect lots of PIMs in that contest.

check out Rick Nash's amazing goal – in slow motion down below. From last night…

Ron Hainsey left last night's contest after the first period with a back injury. He was later seen walking tenderly and he refused to comment to reporters. This sounds to me like something that is more than just day-to-day. I'll keep an eye on it.

Derek Roy will return to the lineup tonight. The Sabres sure need him.

Bad news for Zubov owners – he aggravated his foot injury and left last night's contest. He could miss a couple of games going forward and it is always possible that they will "discover" something wrong with his foot that requires some drastic measure. Quietly shop him.

Loui Eriksson is on a hot streak with six points in five games.

Peter Mueller is on a five-game point streak, with eight points in that span. He has 25 points in his last 34 games and is regularly seeing more ice time these days. Had he been scoring at that rate all season (25 in 34), he would be second in rookie scoring right now. Then again, if Backstrom had been scoring at his rate all season, he would be up there with Kane… but I thought it was interesting to note.

Chris Pronger has a bruised knee and may not be able to play in the game tonight.

Brandon Bochenski has four points in his last four games and has four in six with the Ducks overall. He's a streaky player and worth a two-week pickup.

Glen Murray is still skating on his own and is expected to practice with his teammates early next week. He could be back in the lineup late next week.

Mark Parrish (back) should be back in the lineup tonight. Josh Harding has also been cleared to play, although no starter has been confirmed.

Fredrik Modin sat out one more game, just to give him more time to get his timing back, before he rejoins the Columbus lineup this weekend.

With the signing of Cujo, the Flames have sent Curtis McElhinney down to the minors.

Kris Versteeg has a sprained shoulder and will be on the shelf for two to three weeks.

Dustin Byfuglien's offensive outburst, which happened mere hours after I dropped him in the expert league, happened after being benched the game before. You often see players step up after being scratched or benched and this is another example.

Vancouver scratched Kris Beech for last night's game. Same ol' same ol'.

Peter Schaefer missed yesterday's game with the flu.

The Hurricanes welcomed Cullen, Hedican and Walker back to the lineup. Samsonov still played 18:32, but Casey Borer was down to 8:15. He'll probably be sent down now.

The Leafs have won two in a row. Living in the Toronto area, I am exposed to tidbits like this in pretty much every newspaper: "on the ice, the Leafs came up with a third consecutive good performance and a second straight win". Truly a unique city. The Leafs barely beat an injury-depleted, crappy Boston team in a shootout and before that they squeaked past another team who started probably the league's worst goaltender in Carolina and Michael Leighton. Yeah, great performance guys. Things are turning around, right Leaf fans? Truly a unique city… start planning the Cup parade.
