Ponikarovsky's replacement Darryl Boyce, as well as forward Alexander Steen, left last night's game with shoulder injuries.

Despite not getting any points last night, Blake Comeau of the Islanders has three in his last three games. He had four shots last night and played 16:07. He did not, however, see any PP time. That said, I think Nolan is using him more and more and he's a decent option in multi-cat roto-leagues.

Daniel Alfredsson had seven points last night. I haven't seen that in ages. He now leads the league in scoring as Lecavalier was shut out.

Lecavalier, by the way, was a plus-1. Chris Gratton was a minus-5.

Dan Boyle was back in the Tampa lineup and scored two goals in the loss.

It appeared that Patrick Eaves reinjured his shoulder, as he left the game and did not return.

It appeared that Sheldon Souray reinjured his shoulder, as he left the game and did not return. (sound like a broken record?). Souray will never see 50 points again. Even if he managed to stay healthy for a season, which I question, he was the product of an awesome Montreal power play that he will never be a part of again.

Teddy Purcell, ranked 56th on my top fantasy prospects (and rising) got his first NHL assist last night. He played 12:22 and was on the third PP unit.

Who knows why the team continues to give Kyle Calder lots of PP time?

Mike Cammalleri has stopped skating and will rest. I'm wondering if his ribs are broken? Don't count on him next week.

Jonathan Cheechoo has four goals in six games after scoring twice last night. He is back with Big Joe and is worth a flyer now.

Matt Carle has seven points in his last 12 games. As I have always preached, the Sharks pick it up offensively in the second half.

TJ Hensick finally got some ice time last night, playing the final frame with Hejduk and Brunette. Coach Quenneville was impressed with what he saw and should give him another look there next game.

Both Peter Mueller (eight games) and Ryan Getzlaf (15 games) ended their points streak last night. Shane Doan's 12-game point streak continues…

Alexei Ponikarovsky has a separated shoulder and will be out for six weeks.

Mark Parrish has missed the last two games with a bruised foot. He will be back soon though.

In case you missed it yesterday: Did MLSE hire another puppet? Or, I guess, an 'interim' puppet? Check out this youtube link in the forum – it is truly amazing. Watch the Cliff Fletcher press conference carefully…

The NHL All-Star break is this weekend and Versus has some youtube clips that I will be showing daily until Sunday. The skills competition is Saturday night:

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
