Dobber Sports

2008-03-20

Shop DobberHockey has been updated to include the 2009 Midseason guide and no longer the 2008 version… Just an FYI. I didn't know that it hadn't been updated yet.

Mats Sundin will not play either weekend game coming up. His groin is still on the mend.

Peter Forsberg will not be in the lineup tonight – groin acting up again.

Kurtis Foster will be out for the next several months after colliding with Torrey Mitchell, crashing into the boards and breaking his leg.

Luke DeCock from Lord Stanley's Blog and the Carolina News/ Observer tells me that JustinWilliams is doubtful for the second round of the playoffs. My opinion is that we will only see him in the postseason if the Hurricanes go to the Final. Which won't happen.

Doctors have given Sergei Zubov the go ahead to resume skating today. Do not expect him in the lineup within a week, however.

Zdeno Chara will be a game time decision tonight, but feels much better.

Sidney Crosby will not play tonight, nor will he play on Saturday.

Andrej Sekera was pointless last night, but he was a plus-5 and played over 20 minutes, including 2:13 on the PP for the Sabres.

Maxim Afinogenov played just 12 minutes and was a minus-2.

Kris Russell missed last night's contest with a groin injury. Dick Tarnstrom took his place. Tarnstrom was a healthy scratch the game prior.

Confirmed – as I indicated yesterday afternoon, Jack Johnson does have a foot fracture and he is out for the season.

It sounds like Jozef Stumpel will play tonight.

Richard Zednik was back skating yesterday. I wouldn't expect him to play this year though, but you never know.

The Leafs signed prospect goaltender James Reimer yesterday. He should not be considered unless your league is as deep as they come, because he won't be in the NHL for a couple of years. Let's see how he does as a Marlie first.

Paul Ranger left last night's contest with an injury to his left shoulder. It looked to be serious, but the exact nature is not yet known. Mike Lundin missed the contest with an ankle injury.

Barry Trotz is unhappy with his No.1 line. Dumont, Arnott and Radulov have combined for just 16 points in the last nine contests.

Fleury will get the start tonight for the Pens.

The Flyers signed three players yesterday: Michael-Lee Teslak (goalie), Matt Clackson and Rob Bellamy. Clackson has upside as a fighter, but the other two do not hold fantasy significance.
