Happy Easter! Abbreviated Ramblings today.
As a Kristian Huselius owner, I can't wait until he gets out of Calgary. He played 6:03 on Thursday and just 6:32 last night. He is useless with Keenan coaching him – do NOT pick him in your playoff pool.
Sidney Crosby is thinking that a return on Monday is quite possible. Stay tuned.
Mike Komisarek is gone for three weeks with a lower body injury.
Jeff Halpern missed yesterday's contest with an abdominal strain. He has been a star for Tampa since arriving there.
It is apparently bruised ribs that has sidelined Scott Gomez… so not his ankle and not his shoulder. But who knows with the NHL – it's probably his toe, for all we know. Consider him day to day. Petr Prucha is in his spot on the Shanahan/ Avery line.
Marc Savard did not play the end of last night's game due to a back injury. Consider him day to day.
Jacques Lemaire isn't learning that playing a skilled kid on a decent line is the only way to truly see what he can do, is he? Benoit Pouliot played with PM Bouchard last night and scored his first two goals of his career. The answer to my question is "no", Lemaire and all NHL coaches have still not learned that and you will continue to see Pouliot and other rookies toil on the fourth line minimal ice time. It must have been Pouliot's birthday or something.
Two Pouliots scored their first career goal last night. Marc-Antoine scored his first for Edmonton.
Ryan Getzlaf missed yesterday's contest with an upper body injury. He could play Wednesday. He may just have "stretch- runitis", a common affliction that affects playoff teams in the final seven games.
JS Giguere did not dress yesterday because of back spasms. The team recalled Aubin, but Hiller will shoulder the load.
Reports out of Tampa indicate that Vinny Lecavalier will undergo wrist surgery when the season is over. He would be fine for training camp, but would obviously miss the worlds.
TJ Oshie and Kevin Porter are two of the 10 Hobey Baker finalists.
Dan Ellis may have saved his job with the win yesterday. If Pekka Rinne's flight was not delayed, Rinne would have got the start. Now Trotz is trying to decide if he should start Rinne or Ellis on Tuesday.
Robert Lang left Saturday's game in the first period with a sore back and didn't return. His status for today is unknown.
