Peter Forsberg will need at least several months to rehab his foot, once again throwing into doubt whether or not he can even play 40 games next season.
Dallas coach Dave Tippett has been extended for two years.
The Islanders have fired Ted Nolan. He did not get along well with his GM (again), but kept a bad team competitive.

The Tennessean addressed a question we've all been asking about Alexander Radulov: if he comes back, will he be hungry or will he be a malcontent? Both Barry Trotz and Jason Arnott say they want him back.
I missed reporting this yesterday, and I'm sure you're aware of it by now, but TB has locked in Vinnie Lecavalier for 11 years at $85 million. The deal takes him to the age of 39.
Atlanta has reportedly signed Jason Williams to a one-year deal. He's a first-liner on that team, and could see 60 points as a result.
The Caps have re-signed Boyd Gordon to a one-year deal.
Tarik El-Bashir of the Washington Post rates the prospects in order of performance at development camp: Karl Alzner (defensive defenseman), Jake Hauswirth (undrafted forward, but 6-4 with good hands), Oska Osala (forward discussed in Matt Bugg's article), Andrew Gordon (Forward), Simeon Varlamov (goaltender) and Mathieu Perrault (small, skilled forward).
