Raffi Torres (knee) has resumed skating. He will be ready for training camp and will audtion for a second-line job. His upside is 55 points and 120 penalty minutes, even though the best we've seen so far is 41 and 88. A new team means a new role. I predicted 33 points and 90 PIMs [...]

L’an dernier c’était Matt Cullen et Radim Vrbata.

Other than some Islanders "news" (coaching candidates are apparently down to Bob Hartley, Paul Maurice and Scott Gordon), the well is dry today. We have officially hit rock bottom for 2008 fantasy hockey - so either check out DobberBaseball , or go read Dobber's Fantasy Guide for a second time! There is some fresh hockey content [...]

The Sabres have signed Teppo Numminen and Tyler Bouck to contracts. Janis Sprukts, who had fallen to 394 on my Fantasy Prospects List because I didn't figure he would give the NHL another shot, has signed a one-year, two-way deal - with the Panthers. With the news, he shoots up into the Top 150 on that [...]

As the number of keeper league hockey pools increase each year, fantasy junkies are becoming more active in the off-season as they prepare for the coming year. Rebuild? Retool? Tweak? Whatever your intentions, it helps to get all the information you can about your players. FPL will look at a pair of teams each week and give you the fantasy lowdown. This week, we’ll look through our fantasy hockey goggles at the outlooks for Nashville and New Jersey.

Jeff O'Neill has been invited to the Carolina training camp on a tryout basis. If he's in shape, they'll sign him. If not, they won't. Simple as that. Best case scenario, though, is the high 40s for O'Neill in terms of points. The Leafs have named Doug Gilmour as an assistant coach of the Marlies. I [...]

For your listening pleasure - put it on your Ipod or just listen in on your computer. Let's talk some hockey! Hosts Justin Goldman, Evan Tramontano, and Brenden Thomas chat with TSN.ca's Scott Cullen, Fox Sports' (and Spector's Hockey) Lyle Richardson, and DobberHockey's Jeff Angus about Kristian Huselius, Joe Sakic, Brian Rolston, Mats Sundin (of [...]

It is Sidney Crosby's birthday today. He turns 21. Sometimes we forget that.  Adam Perry, Corey's brother, has signed with Phoenix as a UFA. He was never drafted. He has good instincts, great hockey sense and decent hands, but his skating is somewhat poor and so is his strength. The Caps signed David Steckel to a one-year [...]

I alluded to this a couple of weeks ago in the forum, and now the official news is released. Rogers has acquired PoolExpert Inc. Details can be found here. I had written their draft kit back in 2006 and I got Jeff Angus to do up their draft kit last summer. With the sale, there [...]
