It's already happening – Marian Gaborik pulled his quad on the weekend and is day to day.

Kirill Petrov will be out about three months with an undetermined injury. He may miss the WJC. The Islanders prospect is ranked 163 on my prospects list.

Aaron Portzline of the Dispatch predicts that Filatov will not crack the Jackets lineup, as he will need to blow everyone away with his play in the final nine days. Filatov will return to the ice on Friday.

LA goalie Erik Ersberg has been bedridden with flu-like symptoms that will cause him to stay off the ice for most of this week at least.

Pittsburgh's Ryan Stone would have to clear waivers to be sent down to WB-Scranton. If he makes the team, it won't be on a scoring line, which limits his fantasy potential.

Although Gonchar's MRI won't be until later, the Pittsburgh organization is talking weeks and not days, according to the post- gazette.

San Jose's Torrey Mitchell crashed into the post yesterday and broke both major bones in his lower leg. He will be out for two months. As a result, the Sharks are considering moving Patrick Marleau back to center. Tryout hopeful Jeff Friesen just saw his odds of making the team rise dramatically.

The Blackhawks are considering taking Toews off the top line and having him center Havlat. This would mean Bolland or Kontiola will center the first line instead of the second one. Bolland is reportedly having a strong camp.

The Preds are practicing with a line of Dumont, Hornqvist and Peverly.

Buffalo defenseman Michael Funk has a concussion.

Paul Gaustad has a bruised shoulder and he will sit out for a few days.

Ottawa has cut Jim O'Brien.

Tampa has made the following cuts: Brandon Segal, Andy Rogers, Sean O'Connor, Chris Lawrence, Blair Jones and Jamie Heward.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
