Turns out the Pens recalled John Curry after all. I really like this late-bloomer and in a year or two I think you will hear more from him. The decision was made likely because whoever was recalled would be sitting on the bench, whereas WBS needed their hot starter. So Berkhoel stayed.  Jason Arnott went to [...]

When it all comes crashing down, the only thing left to do is build it back up again. Such is the life of many NHL goalies dealing with their play this season and such is the life of dealing with your own fantasy goalie tandems. The combination of streaky, volatile and inconsistent play is still rampant, so regardless of whether it stems mainly from team play, bad coaching or the goaltender himself, it’s not going away anytime soon.

‘Big Joe’ Thornton – Comme une horloge

Joe Thornton n’est pas tout à fait à un point par partie et ses propriétaires dans les pools sont déçus. Ils ne devraient pas l’être, car tout fonctionne selon un plan.

Big Joe est un joueur de top-six (selon le classement des joueurs DobberHockey ) dans les ligues qui n’ont pas de positions requises et qui comptent strictement les points.

Is there controversy in your fantasy league? Let Dobber settle things! Dobber Court is now in session. Click here for details...  Check the announcements section of the forum for an opportunity to join the DobberHockey team.  Under the new coach, Steve Stamkos played 15:10, but saw little time on the power play. I really don't see [...]

Joe Thornton is not quite at a point per game and his fantasy owners are deeply disappointed. They shouldn’t be, because everything is proceeding according to plan.

Big Joe is a top-six fantasy player (according to the DobberHockey player rankings ) in leagues that do not have positional requirements and count strictly points.

Derek Roy, Eric Staal, Patrice Bergeron and Jonathan Toews are tied in the NHL scoring race. That in of itself is not shocking. The fact that they are tied for 132nd is. All buy low candidates.  Suddenly, Brandon Dubinsky is on pace for 56 points. Guess I was right after all. I was doubting myself [...]

When the 2009 Draft is in the books and enough time has passed to judge its fruits, Sweden will ultimately go down as the country who produces the most steals. From every age group, at every position, in every league, there is a player with tantalizing potential. But there may be nonemoreso than 6'7, 220 lbs center Andreas Jönsson.

Ryan Whitney told the Tribune that he expects to practice within two weeks. If so, he could be back in the lineup in early December, a good two weeks earlier than expected. I think the team will try to move Darryl Sydor as that date approaches. Currently, the Pens PP has Malkin, Crosby, Sykora, Satan [...]

Every December, the best young hockey players in the world gather to take part in one of the most prestigious and exciting hockey tournaments in the world (and my personal favourite) – the World Junior Hockey Championships. Legends are born, just ask “Double Dion” Phaneuf. Unheralded players steal the spotlight, like Swiss goaltender Reto Berra. Looking back through the past years there are a lot big names, as well as big busts. For the next few weeks leading up to the tournament, I will report on what has happened to many of the young players who have starred at this tournament over the years. This week will be Canada, and there will be plenty to follow, including the US, Sweden, Finland, Russia, the Czech Republic, and the rest of the participating nations.

What a great start to this gig I had last week. I'm afraid I may have set the standard too high.  I managed to pick 8 of 12 winning teams and I was correct on 10 of 12 OVER/UNDERS. I know in the forum "joos" managed to pick a 4-game winner...hopefully a few more of you managed to cash in also. Good luck to us this week.
