For the first time in over two years, we have a NEW No.1 fantasy hockey league player.

Interesting conflict of info on David Booth, who left yesterday's contest with a shoulder injury: the Sun/Sentinel reports that coach DeBoer calls Booth "doubtful" for Tuesday. The Miami Herald reports Booth saying it is "minor" and that he'll be back next game.

Another goalie opportunity has arisen – Cam Ward left last night's game against the Ducks with a lower body injury. Michael Leighton could see some extra starts now. The 'Canes do not play until Thursday though so it is possible that Ward returns.

Still on goalies – Craig Anderson got the shutout win yesterday and so he will get Florida's next start tomorrow.

The Kings finally demoted Brian Boyle, who got into just 14 games. He needs ice time and Boyle owners should be happy with this move. He'll return next season and play a bigger role.

The Tennessean on Steve Sullivan: It wasn't a full practice that Steve Sullivan went through Saturday morning, but a number of the drills he did included hard skating as well as twists and turns. Sullivan was also impressive in shooting on goal for the first time since February of 2007, when he hurt his back.

Dallas traded disgrunted prospect Lauri Tukonen, who had gone back to Europe, to Tampa Bay for blue-liner bust Andrew Hutchinson. Is this about Sergei Zubov's injury? Zubov owners should be concerned.

Janne Pesonen was sent back to WB/Scranton.

Keith Tkachuk tallied his 1000th career point in 1077 games last night. His current pace is to finish with 59 points, which is in line with his last two seasons (58 and 58).

Peter Mueller's point on Saturday was his first in six games. He should continue to roll as long as Jokinen is out.

some nice Malkin hustle:
