Angus here. Kovalev has been sent home by the team. GM Bob Gainey did not pull any punches, citing Kovalev's disinterested attitude as the reason for the move. He may return to the club after the road trip, but I do not see him sticking around for long. One of the most frustrating players in NHL history.

A fantastic and insightful read from Kings blogger Rich Hammond, who sat down to speak with Kings GM Dean Lombardi about his views on the trade deadline. Check it out here.

WAS prospect Oskar Osala is pointless and a minus-9 in his last 13 AHL games. Talk about hitting a wall. Funny, I drafted him in my keeper league about 14 games ago…

Brad Richards will be out 6-8 weeks with that broken wrist.

Justin Williams has a broken hand. The Band-Aid Boy will be gone for a month or more. This opens up a spot on the top six for Jussi Jokinen, who may get a look there.

Patrick Sharp's injury is a knee sprain and he will be shelved for two to four weeks. So far it looks as though Byfuglien will get more ice time now, and no player has been called up.

Brad Richards has a broken wrist. Nobody in the Dallas organization is admitting this, but that is what TSN is reporting, as well as the Dispatch. The Stars are looking into calling Tom Wandell up from Sweden. Ranked 287 on my prospects list, Wandell is having a strong year over there and he would have played in the AHL this year had the Stars had an affiliate. The situation is worth watching.

Kurtis Foster has four assists in his last two games for the Houston Aeros. He is playing a regular shift now, so the Wild could be recalling him soon.

Daniel Carcillo missed last night's game because he "wasn't feeling great". Not sure what that means, but that's what it said in Gintonio's blog.

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
