Edmonton Picks up Ales Kotalik for a Draft Pick

The Oilers acquired Ales Kotalik from the Sabres for a second-round draft pick.
The Oilers get: a skilled, but underachieving winger. He has shown spurts of hot production, but long cold spells.
The Sabres get: a draft pick and salary space.
Fantasy players impacted: Kotalik's value goes up. He was buried in Buffalo and had worn out his welcome. This fresh start with countryman Ales Hemsky has potential to be huge. On a hunch – pick him up and hope for a point per game. Granted, the downside is his usual 40-point play, but think about it – he is the countryman of his new team's superstar. Pick him up on this hunch.
Adding O'Sullivan and Kotalik hurts Dustin Penner and Robert Nilsson.
Maxim Afinogenov can now find a spot in the lineup. A second chance?
