April 27, 2009 – Matt Duchene…and More…

Detroit prospect Dick Axelsson has returned to Sweden. He was unable to get into an AHL game due to a finger injury. He is ranked 96th on my prospects list.

Both Sergei Samsonov and Jamie Langenbrunner returned to the NJ/CAR series last night. Samsonov has just one point in five playoff games and he played 14 minutes.

Here is an interesting article evaluating some Nashville prospects (such as Spaling, Franson and Jessiman).

Anders Eriksson will likely replace Phaneuf tonight, who is officially day-to-day. Eriksson…he's no Phaneuf ;)

Because the Pens won a playoff series, the pick that they gave up to get Bill Guerin goes from a 5th rounder to a 3rd rounder.

2009 draftee Matt Duchene, who I compare to Steven Stamkos in terms of immediate impact and long-term potential, scored a hat trick last Friday to eliminate Belleville. His Brampton Battalion will play Windsor in the OHL Final, which begins Wednesday.

Regarding the Frozen Pool section of our site (a fantastic tool that can be accessed via the "Fantasy Tools" tab at the top), it will be free for 6-10 weeks, and then it will be a paid service. Those who buy a package (Keeper or Ultimate) will get a large discount on this paid service. I won't be making it available on my Shop page until it actually requires paid access.

On the latest Dobber Nation Podcast, Guy Flaming of Edmonton's "Pipeline Show" and Hockey's Future will be on to discuss the Oilers and some prospects; Paul McCann hosts Preds weekly show on AM560 sports radio in Nashville; DobberHockey's Jeff Angus will be on to give his take on some of the playoff action. That's tomorrow. As always, if you want to a) have a banner on the Dobber Nation page for over 10,000 sets of eyes to see, AND b ) Have a 30-second ad for 10,000 sets of ears to hear – all for $50-$80, \n \n email Rob here This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.

Keeping Karlsson: Short Shifts – New Year News
