Couldn't get what I want done on the main menu so for now I just made a few changes – the new "Player Profiles" section is up and running, there is a new link for the Frozen Pool section called "Fantasy Tools" and I stuck the Band-Aid Boys, Hockey Links, Looking Ahead and DobberHockey Pics in a section called "Other Features". Enjoy!
Who would have thought that after nine playoff games, Chad LaRose (fixed, brain-fart – I had "Corey" here oops) would have eight more points than Rod Brind'Amour?
Anton Babchuk, who turns 25 on Wednesday, had 13 points in his last 11 regular season games… but zero in eight playoff games and was a healthy scratch for one game.
Sergei Samsonov is starting the playoffs like he began the season – not getting points.
The Rangers have re-signed Steve Valiquette for next season.
The Blue Jackets have signed their fifth-round pick from last summer, Tomas Kubalik, to an entry-level deal. He's an agitator who doesn't offer much in the way of offense, but he sure racked up the PIM in the Czech League.
The Tennessean is reporting that prospect Blake Geoffrion will return to the University of Wisconsin for another year. His offensive upside is limited, probably somewhere in the 50s.
Dallas prospect Jamie Benn was injured on the weekend sliding into the boards in a WHL game. It looked like a concussion, but reports are that he was fine after the contest. Benn is ranked 17th on my prospects list and he'll get a long look in camp in the fall.
The Fantasy Player Profiles are almost posted and ready to go – you will be able to see Eric Maltais' take on all the players sometime later today. Be sure to check back. And another reminder (until I get my menu on the left fixed and updated) that you can access the awesome new Frozen Pool feature, but clicking the "Fantasy Tools" tab at the top of the page (in the banner).
