Flames still need an answer for No.2 – June 06, 2009

Jarkko Immonen, in case any of you in crazy-deep leagues still own him and were hoping for a return to the continent, has signed a two-year deal to play in the KHL next season.

NHLPA boss told the Hamilton Spectator that "it's time to pull the plug" on Phoenix. Thanks to Stephane Richer in the forum for this link .

The Flames re-signed backup goaltender Curtis McElhinney. He was set to be a UFA and judging by his 1-6-0 record and .889 SP, he is not the answer to reducing Miikka's workload. They have to do better.

Pavel Datsyuk will be in the Detroit lineup tonight. He will probably knock Ville Leino out of the lineup. So how much does Detroit improve with Datsyuk (with a broken foot) over Leino? I invite you to discuss below. Obviously it's an improvement – but I don't think by as much as people think just be hearing the name "Datsyuk". Him on one leg is better than Leino… but how much better?

Chris Kunitz still has one goal in the 21 playoff games. Below is the clip to an empty netter. Rule 57.4: "If, when the opposing goalkeeper has been removed from the ice, a player in control of the puck in the neutral or attacking zone is tripped or otherwise fouled with no opposition between him and the opposing goal, thus preventing a reasonable scoring opportunity, the Referee shall immediately stop play and award a goal to the attacking team." So should it have been an automatic goal?
