Tyler Seguin was named OHL MVP a few days ago, and Taylor Hall is busy leading his Spitfires to an OHL Championship. Hall’s 29 points are good for second in league playoff scoring (Kitchener’s Jeff Skinner leads the way with 20 goals and 33 points). If you were the Oilers… who would you take? In a fantasy league who would you take?

Jagr to the Oilers? If he does jump back to the NHL, expect him to bring along his buddy Roman Cervenka. There are rumors circulating that Jagr is close to re-signing in the KHL, but nothing has been confirmed.

Montreal vs. Pittsburgh tonight – can Halak carry over his magic from round one?

Last night's game provided a few great examples as to why Jonathan Ericsson frustrates the Red Wings coaching staff so much. He made a horrible read on the Heatley goal, essentially standing still and allowing Thornton easy access to pass the puck right to Heatley right in front of Howard. However, later on in the first period he made a fantastic rush up the ice and held the puck in the San Jose zone while the forwards changed. He then made a Datsyuk-like beauty pass to Dan Cleary, who was left alone for an easy tap-in right in front of Nabokov. Ericsson has upside as a fantasy defenseman, but is really tough to peg right now. He skates incredibly well for a big man, but doesn't compete as hard as he should every shift. He has a good shot, but sometimes seems to panic when the puck is on his stick. Unless you are in a very (very) deep keeper, I don't think he warrants a keeper spot. He bears watching over the next few seasons, though.

Dobber’s 2010 Prospect Report – read all about it here! You can buy it now, and it will be available for download on June 1st. Support the site! Matt Bugg’s famous 2010 Mock Entry Draft will be included as well. The guide will be available in French as well! Check out the link for that version here.

As Dobber has previously mentioned, the playoffs/off-season are slow in terms of fantasy news. The playoffs are better than nothing from a fantasy perspective, as they still represent a chance for poolies to evaluate NHL players for next season. There are also the AHL and CHL playoffs to keep tabs on as well. However, it does get harder to find things to ramble about on a day-to-day basis.

As I have said a few times, I'm going to try and get a weekly Q & A going on the message boards. I find these things are really popular and I enjoy helping you guys out (as well as learning a thing or two from you in the process). Even if you don't have a question, it would probably be beneficial to still read through the topic to see how other poolies handle certain trade discussions/roster moves, etc. Here is a link to my most recent Q & A thread from April 24th.

Another thing I am going to do is discuss a player/prospect in detail each Friday. Name of this segment is TBA, but essentially I'll ask for e-mails ([email protected]) each week, requesting a closer look at a player. For example, say you own Blackhawk defensive prospect Dylan Olsen in a keeper league, and you want to know what others think of him? I'll post my thoughts and then open up the floor (so to speak) to the community for more feedback.

His rookie season in the AHL wasn't spectacular (22 goals, 45 points), but you have to admire Sergei Shirokov's attitude. He is more than willing to come back and compete next year once again in camp to make the Canucks. He also states that he is willing to continue the pursuit of that dream in the AHL. Pretty admirable considering he could earn 5-10x more than he makes with the Moose back home in the KHL.

Right now is probably the best time to acquire Mike Green, as I don't see his value getting much lower (at least in the short term). He is still the best defenseman and probably the fourth best skater to own in all league formats. I'm not saying it will be easy to acquire him, but his value may actually be below where it should be just because of his miserable first round series against the Canadiens. Time to strike!

Puck Daddy gets bloggers to write the eulogies for teams eliminated as the playoffs roll along. The best yet was up yesterday – the fine folks from ThePensBlog (one of the best hockey blogs on the net) carefully tore the Capitals to shreds. It was biting and true, but most of all it was hilarious. Being able to write honestly with humour is very tough, but they did a fantastic job of it. Best Puck Daddy eulogy yet, as far as I am concerned.

Elliotte Friedman had an interesting tweet yesterday relating to Steve Yzerman and the Tampa Bay job. According to Friedman, Yzerman is not a big Lecavalier fan. I'll get the inevitable out of the way – Lecavalier for Price? Obviously the salaries don't match, but what would the off-season bet without Vinny-to-Montreal discussions?

Thanks again to the awesome sponsors that helped put together the DobberHockey Playoff Challenge over at Pick Up Hockey. Easton and Cool Hockey both stepped up huge with some awesome, awesome prizes.

It looks like Jiri Hudler will be back in the NHL next season. The only question is – where? Detroit has his rights and he will have to honour the arbitrator's decision from last summer (a two-year deal worth $2.875 million/season). Detroit would welcome him back with open arms, wouldn't they? Hudler is a fantastic and versatile forward who fits the Red Wing system very well. He had a phenomenal season in the KHL for the recently-folded Moscow Dynamo team, scoring 19 goals and recording 35 assists in 54 games. He is going to slip in more than a few drafts this fall, unless you are in a league with a bunch of DobberHockey readers.

The NHL has added some more "History Will Be Made" commercials after the first round. I know these have been overdone by fans, but I still enjoying watching (most of) them. The pass Zetterberg makes to Datsyuk for the goal in the video is absolutely ridiculous. The amount of sauce on that baby would make a Big Mac look dry!
