Lydman to the Ducks

Fantasy Impact – Anaheim has signed former Buffalo defenseman Toni Lydman to a three-year, $9 million contract.
The Ducks get: A steady top four defenseman who can log 20 minutes per game and play in all situations. He is not a Scott Niedermayer replacement (not even close), but he will help to fill some of the void Niedermayer's retirement leaves in Anaheim's lineup. Lydman is prone to turning the puck over at times but he will add some stability to a team in transition.
Fantasy Players impacted:
It is hard to say right now as the Ducks only have Lubomir Visnovsky, Sheldon Brookbank, Steve Eminger, and Brett Festerling locked up through 2010-11 Festerling is not a lock for the top six and Eminger/Brookbank are number six defensemen at best. Lydman should see some time on the second power play unit. Expect him to finish right around the 25-point mark. He could surprise with 30 or more points if he plays regularly with the dynamic Visnovsky.
Fantasy Players this helps, in order:
1. Lydman
2. Visnovsky
