Niittymaki

Fantasy Impact – San Jose has signed goaltender Antero Niittymaki to a two-year deal worth $4 million in total.

The Sharks get: A very talented goalie who still possesses the upside to be a solid starting goalie at the NHL level. The Sharks are obviously comfortable with the young goalies in their system, most notably Thomas Greiss and Alex Stalock, as Niittymaki probably won't start more than 55 games.

Fantasy Players impacted: Niittymaki's value increases tremendously. The Sharks are an elite team and Niittymaki's numbers will benefit in a huge way. 30+ wins should be expected. This also helps poolies who own Greiss and Stalock, as one of them will see at least 15-20 starts, assuming San Jose doesn't bring in another goaltender.

The Atlanta Thrashers are ecstatic with this move, as Niittymaki had a career record of 17-0 against them.
