Five Goalies with Everything to Prove: The School of Block turned three years old on Saturday, so I thought a fitting way to celebrate was to repeat the very first session ever held. That first article did one thing - analyze situation. And since that is of utmost importance heading into the week of training camp, let’s look at five goalies with a ton of their fantasy future hanging in the balance of how they start.

Every hour or so I will be announcing a dozen names drawn for an invite into the Entry League of my Three-Tiered Invitational. I'll draw 53 winners and lucky 12 reserve names. Last year I think we needed to use 10 or 12 reserve names thanks to conflicts, etc. So if you are chosen [...]

Sedin

There are numerous strategies that you can employ to win your hockey pool. One of them is to load up on a specific team. This strategy works better in rotisserie or points-only leagues, as having multiple players from the same team may hurt you during weeks with only a game or two in head-to-head leagues .

He’s Ba-a-ack – Fergusson Audits Your Team!

Audit

Welcome back to “An Expert’s Audit” where we take an in-depth look at a reader’s keeper team in the hopes of helping him over the hump toward a championship.  If you’re interested in getting an audit done for your own keeper team then you can begin the process by firing off an email to Dobber about it.

Gareth Bush fell just short of a championship last year, reaching the final but coming up second best.  There’s very little to tweak here since there are many pieces already in place. Most of our discussion was around the prospects that he could add to his squad with the three picks he secured (including two in the second round). He plays in a CBS Sportsline 14 team weighted H2H fantasy point dynasty. Yeah, the scoring gets a little confusing but nevertheless here it is.

A few predictions for 2010-11:   Lubomir Visnovsky leads the Western Conference in defensive scoring.   The Bruins win the Eastern Conference title. Love the mix they have both at forward and on defense. Washington takes a slight step back because of improvements made by Tampa Bay and Atlanta. Carolina will be better as [...]

If I were drafting in a one-year, points only league, I'd take Letang over Goligoski. This is a bit of a change in opinion from earlier in the summer. I'll explain why:   Letang is a shooter. Gonchar was a shooter. The Penguins love to spread out the penalty kill and use the point [...]
