Goldie: November Scouting Journal is posted! Read it here. Top-100 Prospects Rankings is here. NHL Depth Charts is here. Cory Schneider scouting chart from last night is here. Enjoy! Your reads keep it all free!

Correct answer – Bobby Ryan. Steve Laidlaw is on the ball once again! Stay tuned for more contests tomorrow – first one will come out at 9:15 AM EST.

Contest #4 – this one may require some digging on the forums. Name the one player that I most regret trading away in my fantasy hockey history (happened three-ish years ago). I have brought this up many times on the forums/site – I preach patience but didn’t take my own advice with this player. Hint – he isn’t Canadian. First one to tweet OR e-mail me the correct answer wins an autographed Mike Richards 8×10 w/ COA.

If you aren’t on twitter now – get on it! Dobber and I will be handing out many of our prizes via twitter.

The winner – Pat Verbeek. Tweeted to me by SteveLaidlaw. He wins a shirt from the DobberHockey store! One more contest to go – 7pm PST/10pm EST tonight!

Contest #3 – A bit more involved than the past two. I am thinking of a player. Known for scoring goals (over 400 for the career) and racking up PIM (over 2500 for the career). Played in the 80’s, 90’s, and 00’s. He won one cup during his career. Was a member of a team that is now defunct. First person to tweet me (angus_j) the correct answer wins!

Prize will be a SHIRT from the DobberHockey store.

The correct answer: Hagman-Kesler-Sharp. Congrats to e. murdoch!

Contest #2 – going through the archived columns… (click Columnists on the left-hand side) – what was the third line for my 2007-08 Prime Cuts team? Post the correct answer in this thread.

The “Looking Ahead” feature now has the weekly chart in it. Sorry for the miss originally.

The first contest: That was quick! Congrats to Holymamn for tweeting me the correct answer! The second contest will be revealed at 2:30 EST. Stay tuned!

The question for the first contest was – using the Frozen Tools section, who were Antoine Vermette’s linemates in 2008-09 on his most productive line? The answer was Umberger and Jason Williams and it was to be tweeted to (@angus_j) on Twitter

The bad (or good, depending on your take) Steve Downie showed up (15 PIM). He was going back and forth with Doughty all game, and ended up scrapping Willie Mitchell. Downie then proceeded to do his best to escape the lineseman’s death grip on him as he was escorted off the ice…

Justin Williams continues his timely scoring for the Kings. He had the only goal of the game (and it was a beauty). He won’t stay healthy for 80+ games, but he looks infinitely better than he did last season.

A DobberHockey get-together for the second week of December is in the cards. The location: somewhere geographically between Thunder Bay and Victoria on the map. Beers will be consumed, hockey will be discussed. Other details, TBA…

Today officially marks the Fifth Anniversary of DobberHockey. For the next five days, we will be running multiple contests each day with some terrific prizes – thanks to our sponsors for setting us up with some sweet stuff to give away!

We have also set a one-month traffic record for the website this October – 6,052,013 page views in October, and 502,657 unique visitors to the site. Thanks for the support!

Cory Schneider continues to look as cool as a cucumber between the pipes for the Canucks. He was a fluke bounce and five minutes away from a shutout against Colorado last night.

Raffi Torres scored his sixth goal in five games – en fuego.

This short season has been a microcosm of Jason Spezza's career. Injuries, but when healthy he produces at an elite level. Four points last night (although it was against the Islanders). Spezza now has nine points in eight games this season. My projection for this season: 65-70 GP, 80-85 points.

📢 advertisement:

Pascal Leclaire given chance to start to begin the season. He sustains an injury. Brian Elliott takes over and steals the starters job. How many more years will this exact trend happen? Elliott has looked very solid for the Senators since filling in for Leclaire last month.

Pietrangelo assisted on both St. Louis goals last night. He has looked great this season – at times the best defenseman on the team.

The Blues are leading the Central Division, just like I predicted. Too bad it is only November and not April.

The Sharks haven't scored a goal in almost 145 minutes.

Jaroslav Halak is very, very good. Don't need to write much on him that hasn't already been said.

Derek Stepan is pointless in seven games, and he has been playing only 10 or 11 minutes per game over that span. How long before he is sent down?

Mathieu Garon started on consecutive nights, and he ended up getting his second consecutive shutout in the process. He is a better goalie than Mason, but he probably won't get the chance to prove it. Columbus is committed to Mason.

I mentioned two weeks ago about how Brassard and Voracek were buy low candidates. Brassard has scored in five of the past six games, while Voracek has six points in his last six games.

Little missed another game for Atlanta due to a concussion.

Anton Stralman has yet to score this season, but he does have points in consecutive games. A good buy low candidate for one-year leagues. As the forwards in Columbus improve their production, so will Stralman.

Filatov has been close to 15 minutes in ice time in each of the past two games, after averaging seven minutes per game for the previous four. He has yet to score this season, though.

I have made this point with Filatov before – I simply haven't seen in him what others have/did/do. He has amazing talents with the puck, blinding speed, and a great shot, but I am not sure that he thinks the game at an elite level. Sort of like an Afinogenov type of player.

Brandon Dubinsky is off to a strong start – eight goals in 12 games. He was one of the best players I have ever seen at the WHL level live (the best being Peter Mueller).

Claude Giroux is Philadelphia's best forward. Took him less time to get there than I had anticipated.

As some of you may (or may not) have noticed, DobberHockey has partnered up with CoolHockey to bring you custom hockey jerseys for a low price. Dobber took a smaller cut of sales in order to get the price down even further. And to celebrate DobberHockey’s fifth anniversary – until Tuesday – we will be offering an ADDITIONAL 15% off all hockey jerseys. Christmas is eight weeks away, so now is the time to buy – and this is the place! Browse the merchandise HERE and use coupon code: Dobber15.

Suspendable? Maybe, maybe not. The fact that Carcillo has a "bit" of a reputation doesn't help…

Thornton was given a five minute major for this hit. Perron returned to the game and scored the second goal for the Blues as well.

Ryan Kesler with a snipe of a goal:
