Sergei Kostitsyn has an eight game point streak going for the Preds.

Marty Erat is flying right now for the Preds – he looks to have shaken the rust off from some early season injury troubles. He's got 10 points in his past eight games.

Shea Weber has points in four consecutive games.

For those of you who own multiple Panthers on your fantasy team, last night was probably the first time you could be happy with their respective performances.

The Panthers blew out Buffalo, getting offense from both the usual suspects (Frolik and Weiss), as well as a rookie (Evgeni Dadonov had two helpers).

Corey Crawford started again for Chicago last night (his eighth in their past 10 games). He was solid all game long against the Wings.

Kane and Hossa are both hoping to return on Sunday.

A game after scoring his first career hat trick, Nick Lidstrom was an uncharacteristic minus-3.

Bryan Bickell scored last night, and he played almost 19 minutes. He is on pace for over 20 goals and 40 points… decent numbers from a player no one expected much out of.

His ice time is obviously inflated with the injuries, but he brings an element of size and physicality to Chicago's offense.

Pascal Leclaire was scheduled to start, but he was pulled late after injuring himself during the warm up. Brian Elliott had a stinker of a game.

TJ Galiardi scored in his first game back after a broken wrist. I don't see a ton of offensive upside in him, mostly because of how good he is defensively (he'll slot into more of a two-way/checking role).

Duchene has eight goals in his past 10 games.

Erik Karlsson found the score sheet again for Ottawa, and he played almost 27 minutes. He's been looking very good over the past few weeks.

Shattenkirk and Liles both had two helpers for the Avs. Liles saw more even strength and power play time than the rookie.

Niagara scored eight goals in the first period against Barrie last night (OHL). The final score was 10-0.

Anders Lindback was about 13 minutes away from posting his third shutout in four games. Is it time to start hoarding young goalies in Nashville?

I expected a decline from Patric Hornqvist this season (a few reasons, loss of Arnott, abnormally high shooting percentage). So far, so good. He is on pace for 21 goals and 40 points. However, I could be eating my words in a month or two – Hornqvist is a very streaky offensive producer.

The Sharks wishing you a Merry Christmas – funny video.

Chicago still hasn't decided if they are going to send Jeremy Morin to the World Juniors or not. I think sending him would be the right move.

Paul Stastny didn't play last night – stiff upper back. He's lucky that's all he received after a gruesome crash into the end boards.

It sounds like Christian Ehrhoff has recovered from his bout of vertigo – he should return to the lineup tonight after missing three games. In his absence, Mikael Samuelsson played the left point on Vancouver's first PP unit.

Matt Duchene is a dynamic player – proof of it here. Look at him fly through as soon as he sees the open ice:
