Looking Ahead – Week 12

A tough decision can be made easier with these charts showing you the best five and worst five schedules for upcoming seven-day periods. Some of you used them last year but for the benefit of new readers here is a refresher. The number next to the team indicates the ‘multiplier’ to use on a player’s point-per-game pace to give you an idea how many points to expect for that week.

Those of you who are in a Sunday to Saturday league are in luck this week with not one, but two five game weeks. Unfortunately, the first one is for the Florida Panthers. I say that jokingly, but when looking at the stats, they actually sit at 15th for goals per game in the league at 2.70, which isn't too bad considering their loss of Nathan Horton and the lack of production from players who we were all hoping would step up.

In better news, the Canucks also play a five game week during that stretch, and four of those games are against teams that are in the bottom half of the league in terms of goals against per game.

The Ducks are finally at the tail end of their seven game road trip, in which they have went 2-3 thus far. They still have to head to Los Angeles and Phoenix before finally heading home for a nice six game home-stand.

Just to remind, the Habs are on a seven game road trip as well and went 1-2 so far. They follow that up with six out of their next seven games being at home. The Bruins are now only two points back and have two games in hand on Montreal.

Coming off their eight day break and a 5-0 loss to the Panthers on Monday, Philly gets back on track this Tuesday, playing three games between then and Friday. Normally playing nine games on the road in their next ten would be a bad thing for teams, but the Flyers have been superb just about everywhere this year going 10-2-3 on the away from home.

That's all for this week folk. I hope everyone has a great Christmas and can enjoy the holidays. Can't wait for some Boxing Day hockey.
