What a terrible setback for a player who had such a small window of opportunity to flourish and wasn't doing too badly - The Fourth Period reports that Scott Parse will undergo groin surgery and is out for 3-4 months.   Carolina has claimed Troy Bodie off of waivers. This is added competition for [...]

Stick-to-itiveness

Price

Sometimes I wonder if it’s even a real word and other times it seems like a tacky term only used for the sake of being creative. But “Stick-to-itiveness” is actually a pretty important aspect of managing fantasy goalies. It also happens to broach many levels of the goaltending position, and when that happens, I have to take the time to explain what it can teach a fantasy manager.

Angus here - I'll be hoping on the radio at 9:30 PST tonight to chat fantasy hockey (Monday). Go to 1040 on your AM dials, or you can listen live.   Announcement - I have decided to hold the December 9 fantasy hockey gathering at the River Rock Casino in Vancouver!   Adrian Dater [...]

I found it interesting that the Oilers lost 8-2, yet Taylor Hall played a ton of minutes (20:49) and was a plus-1. Pretty promising if you ask me.   How many more games will Khabibulin start? That's 14 goals in his last two starts and he is 1-5-0 in his last six. Dubnyk is [...]

Giroux

Last week was a much better week than the opening week, as I was able to pick 7 out of 12 winners, and would have had 8 if I didn’t get so greedy with those damned Sabres.  Poor Thunder only managed 4 last week, although I’ll give her mad props for calling the Sabres over the Leafs and in the shootout!  Of course as luck would have it each of my proline tickets had a single game wrong as it doesn’t seem to matter which ones you get right, but then you have to get them all on the same ticket!  Anyways, only 11 games on the schedule for this Saturday, as the forecast is calling for snow up here in the Great White North.  Let’s get right to business:

Its's official - 11 years and $58 (sorry for the typo earlier) million for Jeff Carter. Not sure what to think of this contract...   Goldie: If you didn't think Hiller was elite before today, he's proved it in the last week. Bryzgalov continued to show signs of energy drain vs CGY last night. Fleury FINALLY heeded my advice and displayed an intense/desperate [...]

Mikko Lehtonen

It’s tough to figure out where Mikko Lehtonen is best suited to play. In two-plus years in the SM-Liiga, the Boston Bruins prospect scored just 18 goals and 21 assists in 106 games. Despite being a teenager in the top pro league in his native Finland, his numbers were a little weak for someone with his offensive talents.

Looking Ahead – Week 6

Staal

A tough decision can be made easier with these charts showing you the best five and worst five schedules for upcoming seven-day periods. Some of you used them last year but for the benefit of new readers here is a refresher. The number next to the team indicates the 'multiplier' to use on a player's point-per-game pace to give you an idea how many points to expect for that week.

If you own any Rangers and are in a Sunday to Saturday league, then you are in luck.
