Bergfors to Florida

dvorak

Fantasy Impact: Florida Panthers trade Radek Dvorak to the Atlanta Thrashers for Niclas Bergfors and Patrick Rissmiller.

The Panthers get: a young, potential second liner who could be a 25-goal, 65-point player in Bergfors

The Thrashers get: an experienced player who can better play the game that the coach is looking for. For some reason, Bergfors never fit into the system.

Fantasy Players Impacted: I think the Thrashers will try Dvorak on the second line and his output should get a boost. At the cost of? Anthony Stewart. He’s finally slowing down and that could prove costly as they bring in a veteran body who can play the second line if the team is desperate – which they are.

Bergfors desperately needed a change of scenery and he got one. It’s unfortunate that this is not a good fit for him. Peter DeBoer probably won’t like him, if Craig Ramsay didn’t like him. Remember – this is the team that waived Michael Grabner. The coach likes the grinders and not so much the skill. That being said, it is a new city and it can’t be any worse than the old one.
