This week we’ll take a gander at each of the Eastern Conference teams remaining games and opponents and try to identify which players (marks) might give you an added edge down the stretch. The games remaining include Thursday nights games.

The final ten games for the Bruins doesn’t look too difficult on paper, but Boston has been 2-3-3 over their last eight games. Perfect time to tune up for a long playoff run? Time will tell.

Nathan Horton has 11 points in his last 15 games, but what really stands out is the 18 points since the All-Star break. He has had multiple point efforts against nearly all of the remaining opponents and notched three points in two Ranger games earlier this year.

Tomas Kaberle hasn’t had the points many thought he would rack up in Boston. He has five points in his 14 games as a Bruin, but four of them have come within the last five contests. Take that as a positive sign.

Brad Marchand’s production has slowed since the team’s acquisition of Kelly and Peverley, but the talented rookie is built to shine in the post-season and may reward a late selection in your playoff pool.

Erik Cole has six points in three games versus Tampa Bay really looks good when you consider that Carolina still has three games remaining against the Bolts.

A weird stat I ran across was Bryan Allen this season has recorded five points in five games AGAINST his current team and nine points in 57 games against the rest of the league. No wonder Carolina traded for him, he had his best games against them!

Don’t forget that Jamie McBain was called up at the end of last season and finished with ten points in 14 games.

Eric Staal had 52 points in his first 50 games and only 13 points over the next 22 games. The good news is that his track record against the remaining teams is very good.

Florida has two games remaining against both Pittsburgh and Washington.

Niclas Bergfors has six points in 12 games as a Panther.

It looks like Dmitry Kulikov might be heating up with points in six of his last ten games. He has recorded three points in four games against the Caps.

Stephen Weiss has nine points in ten March games, including five points in his last four contests. He did miss both Tuesday and Wednesday’s games, but is listed as day-to-day. You have to like his track record this season against Washington.

Brian Boyle started the season with 14 goals in his first 38 games. He had 11 points in 12 games back in December, but now has only one point in the last ten games.

Only two players have recorded more points than Ryan Callahan did over the last month. Jonathan Toews had 20 points, Jason Spezza scored 18 points and Callahan’s 17 points tied him with Anze Kopitar and Alexander Ovechkin. Pretty nice company for the hard working Ranger forward.

Daniel Alfredsson is two points back of his career worst NHL season, set back in 1998-99.  The 38-year-old started this season with 12 points in his first ten games, but scored only 19 points over the next 44 games. Don’t count on the Sens Captain playing more than a couple of games if any before the season is mercifully over in Ottawa.

Erik Karlsson’s 12 points tied him with Lubomir Visnovsky for second in defenseman scoring over the last month, three back of Andrej Sekera.

Marek Svatos has one point in 13 games as a Senator.

Claude Giroux is set up for a very big finish. The Flyers have two games remaining versus each of the Isles and Pens and Giroux already has nine points in eight combined games against those two teams. He has been very consistent this season, as his month by month point totals attest:  11, 12, 12, 12, 11 and 10 so far in March with five games yet to play this month.

Boy does Kris Letang ever miss Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin!  Letang started the year with 41 points in his first 50 games and then he hit the skids, registering a mere six points in the following 23 games.

Ben Lovejoy (love that name) has a point in four straight. Don’t look for the Reverend to suddenly turn into a scorer, his career high is 31 points, set back in 2008-09. That and there are several other options for the Pens when they need offense from their back end.

Mike Green is enduring a brutal season, anyone who owns him will tell you that. Even with all his injury issues, he has still managed to score at a 40 point pace. He is coming off 73 and 76 point seasons and is worth going after if his current owner has tired of constantly scanning the I.R. list.

This season will be Alexander Ovechkin’s worst in the NHL. It looks like he will only miss a handful of games in a bid to get healthier for what the Caps hope is a long playoff run.
