Fantasy Prospects Report – buy it here.

Goldie Says: My first of two steps to 150 is done. My Top-125 Prospects Rankings is out. Of the new 25 prospects, the name I drop for all of you is Chris Rawlings. I’m trusting my gut and putting him on the map.

My Hockey News column from yesterday on Martin St. Louis…

Ilya Bryzgalov is now a Flyer. For the next three weeks. Word is that he is looking for big money, and he is absolutely looking for term. I think he and his agent are tackling the situation boldly, considering what happened last summer. With teams signing goalies out of college and overseas, the market is flooded. If Bobrovsky, Karlsson and Gustavsson come over and land an NHL job, then who is left out to dry? Last year it was Theodore, Turco and Nabokov – one went to Europe, the other two saw massive pay cuts and were relegated to backup. IF Bryzgalov plays hardball here, be prepared for him to get hung out to dry in the summer. And if he does indeed sign a lowball salary, then that will reduce his starts.

However, if the Flyers do sign him, for – say – $5.5 million, then somebody has to go. As I was discussing on Twitter last night, Briere and Timonen would be ideal, but also impossible to move. Briere is too much money and a NMC. Timonen is far too old and his points have declined in each of the last five years. Coburn could move, but not enough money goes. So that leaves Jeff Carter. Yes, if Bryzgalov signs with Philadelphia then Carter will go. Where? Let the speculation begin. But take that chart I put up about Brad Richards Monday and that's about the same thing with Carter. As soon as you see Bryzgalov sign, buy low on Carter.

As for goaltenders, it would then be Bryzgalov with Leighton as the backup and Bobrovsky getting precious starts in the AHL.

Meanwhile, I think Phoenix goes after Vokoun…

Winnipeg has/will hire Kevin Cheveldayoff, who was brilliant as a GM of the Chicago Wolves. They enjoyed great success under his management. I love it when teams sign new blood for GMs. Yzerman, Chiarelli, Shero, Gillis, stop me when I've named a failure, Howson (oops…but give him time)…

Tyler Seguin draws back in with the Horton injury.

Interesting – Carolina have added Dave Lewis and Rod Brind'Amour to their coaching staff. No fantasy impact, but that's a pretty quality add.

Columbus has fired their amateur scouting "guru" and their pro scouting director. Their pipeline "looks" decent on paper, but we have yet to really see any prospects become stars. As I alluded to above regarding GM Scott Howson – give him time.

Daniel Alfredsson will undergo surgery Friday on his back. He's looking at a month of rehab before getting back into his routine.

The Baby Sens have won the Calder Cup! Not bad, after missing the postseason the last five years. The MVP? Goaltender Robin Lehner. The future star of Ottawa, he'll take over for Craig Anderson in about three years. Binghamton beat Houston four games to two.

Ryan Potulny won the AHL playoff scoring race with 26 points in 23 contests.
